Palate Restaurant Mudgee

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. I won’t deny we were a little sceptical of this place at the beginning because it’s part of a motel; but oh my gosh! We were proved wrong when we got to taste the fabulous food we order. First, I was afraid of trying the onion rings as I thought they would be all greasy as other places, but I loved them … the best onion rings I ever had. We also were delighted with the three cheeses bread cob…. Oh my gosh! So delicious! My husband order lamb roast and I had the chicken Mignon, no need to say that it was all delicious. Great experience, delicious food and their staff so friendly, specially Nelson. We will sure come back here whenever we have a chance.

Fantastic place to grab a feed especially if you staying at the hotel. The atmosphere was okay, they did their best due to covid got to keep that distance.
The wait staff were very friendly and always had a smile on my face, April and Becky were serving us and they were fantastic.
Signed up to be a member and got 10% off her meal as well on the day awesome!
Food was great couldn't complain about the veal.
Also nice little touch the water adding lemons not many places do that and it adds that little bit of special to the water

A hidden gem. We were sceptical, as the restaurant is attached to a motel. And we were happily proven wrong! Great bread starter (Cobb although the Bruschetta at the next table looked fantastic). Great local wine list- our Cab Sav superb), delicious mains (fillet and lamb- that's my lamb in the photo). Thank you to Peter and Nelson for great attitude to service. And they have only just opened to inhouse dining after Covid lockdowns and restrictions. Whew, what a gem.

Now for Palate Restaurant in Mudgee: it was excellent. Stopped in the motel on a cold winter night 3 wks ago while travelling south. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Local lamb and wine were excellent. The "Palate Platter" on the next table looked amazing.
Only disappointment was that it was so cold that day that the sourdough loaves were not ready at our early dining time!

Good dining experience with tasty food. Valuable price. Good location in the city. Service was good but bit slow. Recommended...

Food exceeded my expectations and portion was very generous.

Had the pork belly with a pomegranate and honey glaze, with baked apples.
It was quite a different preparation that I quite enjoyed. We also ordered the Chowder which was quite substantial and tasted great.
Serving sizes are just right
Just needs a bit more people through the door to add the feeling of the venue but overall a good time in between all the wineries.

Amazing food! You wouldn't think this would be a gourmet experience, based on the way the space looks, but the chef here clearly knows what they're doing! Scallops were exquisite, cooked to perfection. House-made gnocchi was heavenly. Every single element of each dish we ordered was absolutely spot on. Accompanied by some lovely, local Mudgee wine this was by far the best meal we've had in quite a long time. Would definitely recommend!

What a good find! This lovely restaurant is inside a motel but the quality is really really good, it is casual but still great for a date. The portions are generous, food is tasty and very reasonably priced. The waitress and the chef were both lovely people and we really enjoyed our dinner! The only things I would suggest is to have some background music as it was lacking a bit of ambience, and maybe to not have chips as a standard side as that decreased the nice presentation of the dish, felt more like pub food.

We had a great dinner at this hidden gem in Mudgee. We had some fresh seafood, beautifully presented, generous portions. The service was exceptional, I could not be happier to have chosen this place for a romantic date night.

Great food (perfectly cooked rare steak), great service, lovely waitress, highly recommended.

Don’t go anywhere else in Mudgee. This is the perfect dining experience with perfect food. We looked at all the reviews in Mudgee and decided to go to the same restaurant where we were staying at the Comfort Inn - best decision made. Everyone raves about the The Oriental - forget it if you want good food and wine and so much more in quality. Look no further. Stayed a few nights in Mudgee and thankfully we ate here for our last night. We will come back because of our wonderful dining experience and no need to drive. stay and eat!

Very enjoyable experience. Excellent meal. Recommend fisherman's basket. Gnocchi was perfect. Mediterranean barramundi was as good as any I have had. Fast and friendly service. Will definitely be back.

Delicious modern Italian food, and an excellent local wine list. Definitely worth the trip outside the centre of town for dinner, with generous portions of hearty, home style meals. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Our family had a wonderful evening dining here. The food was AMAZING, great selection of food, for both Adults and Kids.

OMG! The food is awesome, friendly staff and meals prepared efficiently. Currently only doing take away, however can deliver. So do yourselves a favour, pick up the phone and get those orders in.
