Khao Yum Thai

This is the best Thai restaurant in redfern and I will say in the city of Sydney or on par or better than any Thai restaurant I've ever eaten at but Better.
The food Is traditional and the flavours are to die for ,the smell of the place just traps you and its the most beautiful food.
The restaurant is tucked away a little but well worth going here to eat in or take away is just as awesome.
The staff are friendly and it has a good feel to the whole place and I've eaten here about 20 times and every meal was beautiful and the effort you can see and taste in every meal.
Definetley go here for Thai food before anywhere else..

Simple and delicious! As the place is small, I believe that greater care with the organization can help. There is no one to take care of the tables, the cashier seemed overworked. Despite this, very friendly service!

Happened upon this place by chance when we really felt like Thai. It was DELICIOUS! We ordered chilli basil chicken stir fry and massamam beef. The beef was tender and well cooked in a thick, creamy sauce, just how I like it! The chicken was tender and plentiful with lots of perfectly cooked veg. Portions were so big we couldn't finish. Don't live in the area but will definitely make a point of coming back.

I'm not sure why this place only has three stars. Honestly, I didn't have other options, so I walked in without checking Google reviews. But, wow! The fried rice (nasigorang) wasn't oily at all, had a slightly fiery taste, perfect seasoning, and a generous portion size, with plenty of seafood inside. Highly recommend it!

All the food was great, maybe the puffs were a bit too sweet which was the only issue we had

What a great little find! Authentic dishes, timely and pleasant service and moderate prices. Very friendly staff. One of the best massaman curries I've had in Sydney! The chicken larb was also fantastic, nice and spicy (I asked for the "hot" option). Try the Thai milk tea, it's delicious!!

Very delicious, great service and quick. Had a chicken padthai noodle and pork pad se-ew noodle.

I am a regular traveller to Thailand. I have got to know Cop and Da Da. The food is authentic, Cop is a trained chef from Bangkok, serves regional dishes too. The experience is rare in Sydney.

The best chicken soup. It's closest to homemade one.

Just what I needed after a long, intense, unpredictable day at work. Thai food classic - in every way. Consistent! Flavourful! Great atmosphere with inviting booths, copper hanging lights and wood wall decor. Full, busy restaurant at 10pm - bustling city buzz - just what I needed. I needed somebody to feed me. I needed a big glass of wine in a proper wine glass! As a local, Khao Yum - yum!

Very good food. Great service/staff. Can get a little busy during peak lunch time but still worth it. Had Lunch here many a times, consistently good.

Excellent Food Well Priced. My favourite is the Cashew Chicken Stir Fry, they'll even do off menu stuff if you ask - i.e. replace rice with vegetables for low carb meal.

Visited on a Wednesday at lunch. Service was good. I ordered Tom Yum noodle soup. I loved the thin rice noodles, the soup was good and it had lots of meat and vegetables.

After being unsatisfied with how lacking in taste but overpriced my meal was from a nearby South American joint, I came here and ordered the duck soup. Problem solved! Super tasty, cheap, large and good service

There are go to dishes here that I have over and again - net seafood rolls, crispy pork belly cashew nut noodle, salt & pepper squid. Always friendly service, all cooked fresh and lovely spicy tasting meals
