Uma Curry & Roti

Such delicious food! I had 2 curries (1 chicken, 1 pumpkin) with rice and the softest, crispiest roti I've ever tasted. Was around $14 and very filling. Highly recommend.

Tried the recently open Uma Curry & Roti for the first time last week. They serving weekly Burmese curries with rice and/or roti with daily specials, salad of the day. Uma is a curry house from Parliament of King in Newtown. I got the two curries with roti & rice options for $12.5. Order the Chicken and Capsicum curry that is Halal & Gluten free and an egg curry. Reasonable portion size with nice fragrance curries that is not too heavy and aromatic served on basmatic rice and roti. The staff Sue and Nathalie are all very friendly and welcoming to customers too. Would be back again for more curries feed.

Perfect location. Surrounded by offices. The vegetarian food is tasty. Had a taste of Indian & Burmese food after long. Staffs are cordial & agile. Set up is warm and cozy. Price all good. Grab a bite and a beer from the other corner. Quantity us also generous.. will come back again.New kid on the block !!

The curry is tasty and it pairs particularly well with chicken, flavorful and soft yet tender. The purple pickle is surprisingly nice and refreshing. The owner is nice, adding a personal touch to the experience. The eco friendly packaging is also a plus.

An amazing social enterprise by the most lovely human beings! The service was excellent. You could taste the love and magic in the curries. Thank you for a beautiful dinner! Definitely will be coming back for more :D

The best roti and curry I've had in Sydney. I always order an extra roti as they are such good quality. The chicken and capsicum curry is delicious as is the pumpkin. Staff are super friendly, warm and helpful. I cannot recommend this highly enough, absolutely delicious!!!

I tried Uma Curry & Roti for the first time yesterday. I had the two vegan curry options, the food was very tasty and absolutely delicious. Portion size was filling. The staff Sue and Nathalie were very friendly and welcoming.
I will absolutely be back, and highly recommend it!

Got to experience the wonderful food last night and am so glad I did! Delicious and filling food for very affordable prices - the roti was fresh and hot and paired well with the curries I chose. With wonderful values that give back to the community, I will certainly be coming back!

The sign promising roti and curry lured us in. We are always on the lookout for authentic food from less prominent cultures in Sydney so were happy to stumble upon Uma. We tried four of the curries (two vegetarian) with roti, sambal and pickles and all were delicious - the kids love it too. The roti is light and fluffy and we had to order extra. It's homestyle cooking - nothing fancy or tricky but authentic and so delicious. While supporting a social enterprise and the lovely people who cook and serve this food is a great incentive to dine here, the food alone is a good enough reason to return.

Tasty food, simple menu, great price. Hostess was very bright and welcoming, food was excellent. Food hall is a great vibe in general.

Tried Uma curry and roti in their second week of operating and found the staff (I think the owner) to be friendly, engaging, and enthusiastic about their new restaurant. The food is delicious (especially the sambal!) and I think it will become a regular spot for me :)

Absolutely amazing food. The curry was absolutely beautiful. The prawn sambal and the fresh pickled slaw were the perfect accompaniment. I can't wait to get back there.

Run by a Burmese couple, cooking delicious authentic curries. The roti was excellent. Highly recommended.
Note: this is a take away restaurant in a cosy food court area. The food is served in (sugar cane eco-friendly) take away containers. Bravo.

Great Gluten free and halal food, very friendly staff, we tried most of the curries and were offered the only one we didn’t have was brought over for us to try for free. Happily go back again!

Just finished off a beef and potato/Dhal combo and it was absolutely delicious. My only suggestion is a slightly bigger serve as I wanted more of this tasty food!
