Wallangarra State School

The best school my children ever attended. The staff were wonderful people and the principal is innovative and caring as well as capable with all types of kids. There’s no bullying or antisocial behaviour tolerated and the pupils form lifelong friendships with the other kids.

I went to this school back in the late 60's when there was no set uniform, and canings happened just about on a daily basis at the principles office.
I'm in my late 50's now but still never forgot the name of my 1st year teacher Ms Broadly. It was routine to present your nails before being seated for class. Any male who had unclean or long nails was treated with the sharp edge of a wooden ruler, while the females felt the flat end of it on the back of the knees.
During morning break a small bottle of milk was given to every child to drink during this break.
I went to see the changes a few years ago expecting everything to have remained unchanged but obviously it had changed with the times.
