Ocean Beach Lookout

Stunning place - easy access and endless beach. Super nice atmosphere. We had a blast - including our doggy. Just need to be careful as motorbikes and cars can appear any moment to spoil the tranquility. Keep your dog on the leash / very close by to avoid any accidents.

Such a beautiful beach, very peaceful place, home to short-tailed shearwater birds that nestle in their sand built nests.

Sunsets are absolutely beautiful at the ocean beach lookout. It’s only 9 minutes drive from Big 4 Holiday parks. Come alone or with your family and talk a walk along the beautiful ocean and enjoy the sound of the water and do grounding on the soil.

A wonderful lookout with the wild west coast calm today than what I imagine is normally quite windy. The only thing letting it down was the access to the beach which has been eroded by the weather and the road to the beach was horrible. I was lucky because I have a 4WD but with an ordinary car it would have be really rough

You could view sunset from the lookout or walk down to the beach. Make sure you get here well ahead of sunset as this is quite a popular spot. Last few kms are unpaved road but 2WD should be okay unless it’s wet.

A nice white beach looking far to the ocean with a lookout if just next to the car parking area. Too bad the weather is too cloudy when we were there.

Beautiful lookout. Easy access to the beach. Easy to find and not far from Strahan. Worth the visit.

Arrived in Strahan after an amazing ride in and went straight to the beach just to catch the last light before heading to the Village. Magical.

Nice beach with good views of the ocean

An awesome beach, so different from a calm sea beach! The water and sand is streaked brown with tannin, but that doesn't stop you. There's a great little inlet for the kids to play around, especially if the surf is too strong for them. Definitely not a beach to swim at for small children. Try the calmer West Strahan Beach instead. Some awesome dunes but be careful of the nesting birds.

Went here at sunset. Hauntingly beautiful, desolate spot. The 40km or so beach seems to stretch endlessly either direction. Perhaps 10 people max and four vehicles there, just about enough space on the beach and dunes for everyone. Sound of unfathomably long waves breaking was phenomenal. Swash/backwash was weird....1-2 minute intervals. Definitely wouldn't go in, even for a wee paddle. Note: it's a 6km gravel track to the lookout/car park. Take it very slowly coming back, had to stop a couple of times for random wildlife to casually cross the track (one looked a bit like a possum but not quite right?)

Well worth the drive for sunset..

First time I have been on the west coast with no wind

Great beach. Esp for all different colour rocks. Amazing. Once down path to beach its very worth it.
