Very nice hotel, service by the manager and chef was outstanding in relation to what was gluten free and what was not.
Very clean, nice atmosphere, good gaming room.
Meals were plentiful and tasty.

Great pub. Very sporty with pool tables and dart boards. Loads of sports on TVs. Very welcoming bar staff. Food looked good. One point I have to make coming from the UK is that the bull on darts boards should be 5'2 from the ground. These were nearly 6 ft. Still had a great afternoon there.

Can't beat this place! Have never been let down. Inexpensive quality food, service is on point and family friendly atmosphere. All round great vibe and no faults to date ! We'll definitely be back time after time, why would you go anywhere else really.

A nice pub with super friendly staff! We arrived about 10mins before the kitchen closed. I asked if the kitchen was accepting orders and was told yes. The food was awesome and I never felt that we were an inconvenience arriving 19 mins before the kitchen closed. Will definitely be back

I can honestly say that this was the best fish (fish and chips) that I have had for as long as I can remember ! The Barra and the batter were perfect!
Great staff and service! I was delighted to see something that I haven't seen since I was a kid, whereby after our meal we were given an After-Dinner Mint! Can't wait to go back! Thank you for the great meal and service - the old fashioned way! 5 stars 🌟

Such a lovely smalll town pub, food was great, the service from Selisa was so lovely. Offered a share plate & we even got an after lunch mint. How nice is that, good old fashion service. We will definitely be back, regards Michelle

Fantastic effort tonight by Brad, Kim and Ricky. Food was tasty and well presented. Service was friendly and accommodating. There were several large groups. We were a last minute booking of 16 which was handled well. Loved the atmosphere.

A big thank you to Kim, our chef and vicky for wonderful meals, both meals were faultless and were so yummy, equal to 5 star restaurant . We could not finish but still got our chocolates at the end! Highly recommended for locals and travellers alike, do call in for mouth watering meals and great great service with a smile.

Every birthday is special. A 90th birthday is extra special. Our Mum chose the Tavern as the venue to help celebrate her 90th with family and friends. Vance and his staff were exceptional in helping to ensure that her birthday lunch was one to remember. They provided outstanding service. Many thanks for your contribution to a happy, memorable day.

A great place to stop in Ayr. They offer a great pub feed as well as a variety of other meal options such as the Humpty Doo Baramundi which was very flavoursome. The service was fantastic with staff who clearly enjoy working together and are friendly with locals and travelers. A great place to stop in for lunch on a long road trip or for dinner if staying in town for a while.

After a long day of driving, a pub meal is really what you need. We ordered the lamb shanks, and the ribs n rump. They were juicy, full of flavor, and very generous portions. A cold beer to wash it down was the cherry on top. Highly recommend.

We overnighted at Ayr on the way back to Cairns, Coutts Commercial Hotel was recommended to us as a nice place to have dinner. It certainly was, the food was amazing and the staff were all helpful and cheerful. We will be back next time we travel South. The food was so good, we are a bit disappointed we wont be there for Christmas dinner. Cheers K
