Great day of diving. This dive spot is really cool, despite the lower visibility we still saw a large sting ray, heaps of huge groupers, lots of fish, sea snakes, jellyfish and coral. Suggest taking a sea sickness tablet before the boat ride even if you don’t usually get sea sick. The veggie sausages at the end were also a highlight!! Thanks guys for a great day.

Probably some of the best dives I'd ever done, the site was simply incredible, the marine life was healthy, plenty and massive (I saw what was probably the biggest Queensland Grouper I'd ever seen in my life).

The dive shop crew is simply great, they were professional, yet chilled at the same time. The dive briefing was thorough and they really emphasised on safety procedures. Even though my dives were unguided, I did not feel like I was left to my own devices.

I had an amazing time, and really hope I find the chance to come back again!

After diving the Yongala in 2010 we could not miss out on the opportunity to return when we were travelling up the coast. Although the viz wasn’t the best (3-5 meters) due to recent cyclone the dive did not disappoint. Extremely large schools of fish (some very very big) amd we saw a seasnake as well. We stayed in am ensuite cabin: clean comfortable and spacious. And a proper sausage sizzle after the dive while our gear dried was a great ending to a fun trip. Dive the Yongala if and as soon as you can!

I fully recommend SS YUNGALA DIVE and I would not have done it with anybody else.
Please indulge me in saying first, that I have been diving all over the planet, from Maldives, to Galápagos Islands or Red Sea so readers have an idea of my humble experience.
The Yungala Dive Center is full of highly professional friendly people.
Communication with office staff (Sam, Laura & Fran) is quick and efficient, very helpful, and the trip to the wreck, - A MUST for any diver - is absolutely brilliant with Skipper Matt and Paula our Instructor for the day!!!!
Matt on board does everything perfect, enjoyable, safe (Matt puts safety first so does Paula) and fun.
Paula from the briefing, to goodbye and in the depth loves her job and I would dive with you mi Amiga de Mallorca anywhere!!!!
I rarely take the time to write long reviews (and I should) but my new friends deserve that much and more!!!!
So if you are in Australia, go and check SS Yongala and do it with Yongala Dive!!!

4 of us from Cairns took a trip for my birthday. This dive was cancelled by the dive operators the day before due to unforeseen circumstances out of their control. We understood but told them to please contact us if anything changed as we had come from Cairns and were all extremely excited about the dives.

Within 2hrs we were contacted multiple times to see if we had found another operator to dive with (no luck) or had made other plans. They then organised us another small boat and skipper just for us! They went above and beyond to make this trip happen for us.

The wreck was beautiful, the marine life was amazing and the whole experience was perfect.

Huge thanks to the company but especially to Matt the skipper who went out of his way to give us great service and make it a special day for all of us.

Don't forget Matt, if you come up to Cairns for a dive we will look after you!

Diving the SS Yongola shipwreck was amazing! Such a beautiful dive site with colourful softcoral all over the wreck and so much marine live. It was definitely my favourite dive so far!
Equipment was in great condition and everything was perfect. The team was amazing (Steve, both Matts and Veit). I got extremly seasick, but everyone looked after me and still made it possible, so I could do both of the dives. I'm so thankful for all those amazing people who helped me!!!
Sitting all together afterwards, having a sausage sizzle and logging in the dive was great. I made some great new friends and (beside of my seasickness) had an amazing time!!
I highly recommend taking TravaCalm original though as the boat is small and the waves big. The ginger version did not work at all for me haha.
Hot showers available and a hose to rinse off your gear.
Thanks guys for this amazing dive!!
Highly recommended! ❤🤿🐟🐠

Absolutely incredible dive and the dove school make it a really great experience. Friendly staff who are very professional and so everything correctly. They’re also the only dive company go out there every day of the week I believe, so most of the time it’s just them and they take very small groups which makes it all the more enjoyable.

I’m only new in scuba diving but this experience is gonna be so hard to top! Before discovering the wreck i’ve had a deep diving training by the legend Steve which btw knows every single corner of the ship + a lot of interesting sidefacts and history about the ship. The marine life and the coral are absolutely breathtaking and the organization is spot on! Equipment is high quality. Snacks and food are also included. Could not have spent a better day. Thank you Yongala Dive i will never forget this!

Fastest dive shop that you can get to the famous dive site for the shipwreck Yongala. My husband loved the dive and would definitely recommend this outfit if you want to see the shipwreck and not spent hours getting to it. A+

Why using many words when a few are sufficient to describe an amazing diving shop: security, professionalism, fun.

Not convinced SS Yongala is one of the 10 best dives in the world ? It will surely be one of your top 5.

Amazing staff- loved Steve and deco Dan!! I researched all the companies to dive the yongala and this one certainly lived up to my high expectations and was amazing! From start to finish, Steve and Dan provided an awesome experience. They had all the gear set up ready to go and Steve had a really detailed briefing. I haven’t done that many deep dives and Steve had so many great tips to make the most of my dive. I also loved the grilled sausage post-dive- so yummy. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to dive the Yongala- you won’t regret it!

Greatest dive experience in my 30 years of diving. The marine life at the wreck was truly mesmerising, I wasn’t expecting to be so enthralled. Crew were amazing, professional, patient, and informative and a special thank you to Steve for helping a poor old man (me :-) get his fins off after the second dive so he didn’t cramp up!! and Matt for taking a panicked diver down (after he got control of himself) to experience the wonder of the wreck even after being such a pain.
I must admit, I was expecting a Marina, jetty, and was a little surprised at how ‘primitive’ the whole operation was, tractor launching the boat from the beach, having to drive myself to the beach… but I only include these comments as a ‘heads up’ for readers, as it in NO WAY detracted from how FABULOUS the day was.

Honestly one of the most beautiful dive site I've ever visited.
The amount and diversity of Marine life on the Yongala shipwreck is outstanding.
Back in 2018 I did my Divemaster internship with Yongala and it was sincerely one of the best experience of my young adults life.
From the bottom of my heart thank you to all the crew 🍻!

The best dive site I have ever been to! The abundance of wildlife at this site is better than any reef I have been to.

Thanks to the Matts, Steve and Elliot for a great trip and the awesome pre/during/post dive feed 😜

Could not recommend these guys enough! I stayed at the divers cabin for two nights and did a double dive to the wreck. The marine life at the wreck is just amazing. It really lives up to the expectations and then some. Elliott was my dive guide who was awesome and I want to give a special shout-out to Alex and scuba Steve for making the whole experience amazing. 5 stars from me.

Did a double dive to Yongala wreck with Yongala Dive. Fantastic crew, went above and beyond expectations! The wreck is amazing! Wish I could stay a few days, so much more to spot on the wreck! Very friendly, tidy tourist park next door, nice hot showers!

We had today a really nice dive at MOUA. We were a small group with snacks on the boot. Our instructor (Alex) was really nice & patient and showed us everything. Also the rest of the team was really friendly. Would definitely book the trip again:)
