La saveur French Restaurant

Food is excellent. I really like the lobster bisque it is so authentic and delicious!! So do the snail!! I really enjoy the small restaurant vibe and make me have a sec to think I am in southern France.

Authentic French cuisine. Highly recommended onion soup, snail and cassoulet. Delicious!

I enjoyed this with my father for his birthday. It was delicious. We loved the baked Camembert. The duck was well made, the chocolate mousse was decadent. The waiter was lovely. When we arrived at 7pm, it was empty. I was worried- I thought: why is it so vacant on a Saturday night - I'd heard such great things of this place...so where is everyone. I'd spoken too soon. Within 15 mins the place was as full as a sardine tin. It was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We shall go again. Xo

Our experience of authentic home cooked French Cuisine was exceptional. This little hidden gem in Balmain was way beyond all our expectations and can’t wait to return for the Lobster Mornay.

This is exceptional French food - probably among the best outside Paris. Our French class has been there for lunch on several occasions and never been disappointed. I adore brains and this is probably the only restaurant in Sydney that serves them- beautifully! All the other offerings are superb too. Make a special visit!

There weren't many customers on our night so it was quiet for us to enjoy our dinner. Didn't wait too long between each course. The food was delicious and always hot when it came to the table. The food portion size was perfect - not too much or less. The crepe was excellent!! A sweet note to complete the 3-course dinner. Friendly and helpful staff.

La Saveur is fabulous if you're looking for a down to earth restaurant which prioritises good food and fun times. My partner took me here on Valentine's day after I'd been begging to go back after our first visit and it did not disappoint. Julie the waitress is a living legend, and always makes you feel at home. Thank you again for a fantastic experience!

Absolutely magnificent!

Possibly the best French restaurant I've been to outside of Paris. It is a very small one man band restaurant serving magnificent food hidden away in Balmain.

I had schalops followed by beef bourgogne followed by a creme brule. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the bourgogne was easily the best I've ever tasted.

Fun local bistro with all the French favourites, fresh ingredients and well prepared and cooked, very tasty....friendly attentive front of house. BYO so bring your favourite drop.

V old fashioned but classic French food at good prices. It has a local following, for sure. It is the kind of place for dates who know each other well. But pretty good for families too. A great thing: It is BYO. Yes, in Balmain.

My friend and I were attracted by the desert on the table outside. LA SAVEUR is a new restaurant here, i am so glad that I came in and tried the cafe and the desert.

The menu here is quite simple, so is the small restaurant. Cozy is the best word to describe it. Coffee here is the best! I tried flat white as usual, my hubby ordered cappuccino. They use Schibello, it is a coffee company based in Sydney, I read about some news before about this company, they use top grade Arabica beans, and the company tries to be as environment-friendly as possible. Smell it then sip it, so so good!

Since I am on a diet, don’t want to take too much sugar, I ordered an Apple Strudel only. I like desert, but I don’t like it too sweet.The apple filling is a little bit sour, just perfectly match the sweet paste. Also, there is cinnamon inside, I always believe cinnamon and apple are born to be together😆

A perfect afternoon at LA SAVEUR, the staff there are so friendly, I will definitely come back again! For the coffee!

Clam chowder+grilled chicken tenderloin on pumpkin risotto! I eat all and sooo delicious 😍 Definitely I come this place again. It only $14.80! Perfect price and so kind service.

We had the bouillabaisse last night and, wow, it was so delicate and delicious. Generous amounts of perfectly cooked seafood including mussels, king prawns, scallops, cuttlefish, clams, white fish etc. Well priced too. We were so impressed and will definitely be back.

Had dinner here tonight with some friends that were visiting from interstate. We were all blown away by the taste of the food. We will definitely be returning.

Great little French cafe tucked away at the end of Darling Street Balmain. Loved the authentic French cuisine and presentation. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and front of house/waiter/chef James was delightful. Will go again and recommend for casual french cuisine. BYO so match it with your wine of choice. We chose La Mule Rosé

Absolutely delicious food. The coq au vin outstanding. The chicken tender and melting in the mouth. Had the good fortune of meeting the chef who has been cooking french cuisine for nearly thirty years. The sauce: pure reduction of stock - no flour added to thicken, so completely gluten-free as well. A great dining experience. Waitress was lovely..

This little French restaurant never disappoints. The food from entres to mains to desserts and even side dishes are awesome. Highly recommend this BYO restaurant.
