Had cataracts removed from both eyes by A/Prof Simon Skalicky at Cabrini. The hospital staff were well organised and lovely. The operation was simple, quick and painless. I had no problems with either eye after each operation. It really is a simple process for the most amazing outcome.
It is wonderful to have good sight again.

I am extremely grateful that my optometrist referred me to A/Prof Simon Skalicky. After many years of another specialist suggesting glasses were sufficient and not to take on surgery unnecessarily, I had both cataracts done by Simon and his team about two weeks apart. I also had iStents fitted to reduce my existing glaucoma. The entire consultative decision and election process had been calm, reassuring and straightforward. Despite some personal surgery concerns, the first operation was relaxed, totally professional and the result so outstanding, I had no reservations about the second. Absolutely no complications and other than really close up reading and fine work, my vision without glasses now is excellent and as good as it was decades ago. I can’t believe I hadn’t consulted Simon years before and with something as precious as sight, trust in the best practitioner you can find.

I am extremely grateful to have Dr. Simon Skalicky performed the cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I was seriously shortsighted with -15 on both eyes. Prior to seeing Simon, I have consulted two other Ophthalmologists and both were quite reluctant to operate on my eyes worrying about the risk of retinal detachment during and after surgery. I was fortunate to have my Optometrist referring Simon to me. Simon was very confident and assertive to take me on board. He has professionally outlined the risk and complications so that I made an informed decision to go ahead. Now with a 20/20 vision, I can't thank him enough.

My optometrist referred me to Dr Skalicky because of 'narrow angles' and risk of glaucoma. This problem was well explained, and I decided to undergo the laser procedure recommended. The laser went very well, minimal discomfort (I was terrified and asked for a general anaesthetic, he said it was unnecessary and he was right!) and at followup has been successful. A long term management plan has been made.
I am very happy with Dr Skalicky's explanation and care.
