A must visit when visiting Darwin. There is a lovely park, playground and picnic tables near the water spring. The Spring itself is like an outdoor aquarium with different species of fish, turtles and snakes swimming in the water. There is also an easy bushwalk that you can do as well.

Beautiful environment and conveniently located just a short drive from Darwin. Went to feed the fishes and turtles in the morning. Also attended a story session where they talked about the history and importance of the park. Great place for picnics and to bring toddlers to swim in the manmade rock pool.

Lovely nature park, it's more of a kiddies pool area then a spring to relax in. Massive area for the pool, play equipment and picnic area.
A 2km nature walk around trail which was great- saw many wild animals
There's also a big lake with fish, can't swim in this one.

Such a gem. This place is so well designed and if it existed in any other capital city would be absolutely packed out. Arrived at 9:30 on a Sunday and my family had the place nearly to ourselves. The rock pools are a treat for young kids and the young at heart, and the playground is well designed with cool things to climb for kids of all ages. The zip line too is a great addition. I recommend the bush walk; it's not strenuous and mostly under shade.

This place is awesome! Kids loved it, we loved it, a definite must see. Lush green, walking trail (which was closed due to flooding 😭), plenty of bbqs, toddler pool, plenty of shade + gazebos, playground, lake with bridge, water fall, kids water play park and plenty of toilets. Go out of your way to see this area. Check all the photos out, they will show how awesome this place is. 5 stars definite, and it's free.

What a beautiful place to come for a picnic and cool off. The big trees provide that perfect shade to sit and enjoy nature's pleasures. Wander through many walking tracks or sit and enjoy quiet time by the water . Cool off under the water feature or little pools . A great free venue .

Wonderful spot to cool down in the Darwin heat. Covered play pools that were at a safe depth for toddlers. Good BBQ facilities, clean toilets. A short walking loop nearby and decent playground. Go to see turtles and a file snake in the nearby reservoir. Plenty of parking. Only suggestion would be to have a lifeguard there given the number of kids, just in case.

Lovely spot for a picnic.
There is splash pools/ponds for the little ones, another separate toddler pool, a playground, two fox swings, a big lake with lots of barra, little fish and turtles swimming around which you can also feed plus a couple of walks to do. A few picnic tables although could probably do with a couple more around the ponds/waterfall area.

I visited this park on a weekday so very very few people around. Say about 5 of us in total. It’s a quiet park, about 10 minutes drive from Palmerston NT. You park boasts of various wildlife including different types of fish. It also has swimming area including a toddler’s pool, walking trail and a fascinating playground for those who enjoy a challenge…a lot of people host parties here, particularly, birthdays parties. The only issue I see with this place are the amount of mosquitoes ready to feast on us…so please..if you do go there, pack those repellents. Fill your car up with repellents because you will spend most of your time either blowing mosquitoes off you and chasing them away instead of having a good time. Other than that, the place is amazing: don’t let the mossies stop you…if you want to see an entire video on the park, take a look at my channel link here:

Otherwise, enjoy!

Love the drive out of Darwin to the Howard Springs Nature Park and a walk along the road going in which can result in finding lot's of native and wild flowers plus fungi in the Wet Season. Highly recommended stopping in for a look with it being just a short drive in from the Stuart Highway. 😎

Quite a tranquil setting for a BBQ or fun day out with the family. Lots of huge barramundi in the dam that you can feed. Very exciting as they are enormous. Well worth a visit.

Excellent place for the family. Great playground and picnic facilities. Bring you own meat and have a BBQ. Kids can also have a swim in the safe pool waters. Good place to view Barra and other wildlife up close.
