Nice spot outside. Great feed from the team at Smokey J's. I wish I could still get their low n' slow American BBQ in Darwin town. I wish they offered the full BBQ menu at lunch.
Oh well, it is a good excuse to take a drive in the country.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Darwin River Tavern all the way from Saudi Arabia, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible culinary experience at Smoky J's BBQ. The flavors were outstanding, and the warm hospitality extended by Smoky J's family made me feel right at home. thank you :)

The tranquil ambiance around the pool provided a relaxing retreat. Pairing the delicious meal with a cold Darwin River Lager was the perfect touch to complement the savory flavors of the BBQ. Get the rump and get creamy garlic sauce. Other cuts of meat are not as good. But anything from the Smokey J's list is awesome!!! Big thanks to Lisa and Justin, you are fantastic. Friendly service, attentive, so incredibly helpful!

Beautiful place. Not a bland, boring pub. This place is pure Top End. It's well worth a drive from town if you're thinking about it. Check it out. Very NT, very family orientated and awesome staff.

Country pub. Meals are varied but the brisket is fantastic. Steak sandwhich huuuge, I had the Supreme Pizza on Gluten free base. Crispy thin base with plenty of toppings. Delicious and plenty of it. Swimming pool at the pub to use.

Excellent camping spot. For $12. Pub. Shop showers flushing toilet and free washing machine and drier...what a great spot.. oh and bottle shop !!@

What a gem hidden in the outbacks. Entering inside takes you to a different world. Loved the round classic tables. Shame that I was in for a coffee between work which they obviously don't do. Its in the bucketlist now to be there for a lunch and a drink. Loved the atmosphere. Staff were friendly and directed me to the right direction for a coffee. Cheers

I had my daughters 7th birthday party here and everyone had the best time. Lisa and her husband were so helpful and accomadating, the kids had the best time swimming, doing party games and watching the croc feeding. The food was delicious too. Love this place and will definetley be back. It's a little rural treasure.

Smokey J's has always been fantastic. My family is a big fan of the brisket & steaks. DRT is a beautiful hidden gem with a great outdoor area. Would highly recommend 👌

Had an amazing experience staying 2 nights at the airbnb at the Darwin River Tavern. I usually don't write reviews but my friend and I both agree that the food at the restaurant was one of the best we had on our road trip. Though a tad pricey at first glance, the portion size was big enough for the two of us to share which makes it value for money! Food was delicious, especially the salt and pepper calamari. It was so addicting, we ordered it for 2 days straight and I'm still craving it now 🤤 We also really loved the entire vibe at the tavern; the really old-school 90s kinda vibes. Do check out the tavern if you're around the area!
