Hong Fat BBQ Restaurant

This is one of my favorite restaurants for cheap Asian food. You get a very generous portion of whatever dish you choose with rice for $15-16. And the takeaway servings are just as generous. The place is very hygienic and the food is amazing, just as good if not better than all the Chinese restaurants on gouger.

Have tried lots of dishes here and they are all incredible, several simple ones I would suggest is the Mongolian beef, satay chicken and braised pork belly.

Friendly service and good food. Duck not crispy but it was juicy. Hianese chicken rice was very flavoursome - not the usual flavour profile I'm used to but it was delicious. Looking at previous reviewers. It seemed I must have lucked out on a good day - chinese new year! The food and service I received today was 5 stars.

We order a ‘build your own noodle’ and ‘roast duck with rice’.
The food came very fast (we waited for about 2-3minutes)

It’s been about 14 years since we’ve been back here and eaten, have had lunch here 2 days in a row. Just like it use to be, same taste same great value. We love their BBQ Pork Omlette and today had their Mongolian Beef, Deep Fried Fish Fillet in Sweet Corn Sauce and Stir Fry Chicken with vegetables. All were delicious, and on both days staff were beautiful. Thank you for still serving the same great food! 😋💕

I miss this place alot. I haven't tried many dishes because my first order there was the special fried rice. At the time it was the best I had ever tasted. I used to order 2 large special fried rice and then I would spend all night at the internet gaming place next door. I have been out of the country for 8 years now, living in the US. I have been all over america, been to different China Town locations. Nothing even comes close to Hong Fat's special fried rice. I miss Australia , and I miss Hong Fat BBQ Restaurant.

The duck is excellent, great food overall. Be warned the servings are big :) Chef Lai is the best! But
the greatest thing about this place, is that I've seen them several times give free food to people in need and homeless people.

Very busy during the evening but great food

I've not eaten anything except the Mapo Tofu from here, but honestly it's so so good and it's a solid feed for a good price.

Been coming to Hong fat for 15 odd years. Now my kids love it. Can't be faulted for what it is. Have something to eat inside and then get some takeaway bbq at weight prices to make some meals at home. The new chef is doing Malay dishes, nice addition.

BBQ pork is always delish. Special fried rice is yummy. Sweet and Sour pork, highly recommended.

We are long term customers here as they are open almost all year round. Though it changes ownership and management all the time, their quality somehow can hold.
