Gold Leaf Eastern Restaurant

You would have heard or tried Gold Leaf if you are into Yum Cha. They’ve been in the business for many years, have several branches and have a big varieties. Siu Mai, Har Gow, Char Siu, spring rolls, steam buns, egg tarts, mango sago…all typical yum cha dishes, you name it and Gold Leaf have them all. Also, they keep the dishes made in most traditional way and flavor. A fantastic place for family or friends gathering and everyone would find their dish to enjoy!

The food was delicious, it's a crowded place so make sure you've made a reservation. I liked the prawn and chive dumplings, the pork bun had a mochi like texture which was great. Amongst a few other things, generous portion.

Yum cha is a family favourite for us and we enjoy the wide selection, service and quality of food. Wish I had more photos because there was so many delicious dishes to share.

Getting here is quite the drive for me; it's a good 1/2 hour if traffic is ok ... so I was definitely hoping it would be worth my while. And it was.

You walk into a small waiting area to be seated, and then they take you to your table and. you enter this humongous dining space. It's so huge. I think it would comfortably seat around 200+ people. With that said, however, a circular table for four can get a little hard pushed for space with all of the dishes etc.

They have a good extensive menu, attentive service and while a teeny bit overpriced, it's worth it overall. One thing I didn't LOVE was the fact there was barely a trace of alcohol in my Strawberry Daiquiri. The flavour was great, but if I got stopped by the police on the way home, I'd have been totally under the radar. The only other negative is that it was hard to watch the poor live fish in such small tanks. They can hardly move around and it looked kind of cruel.

All of the positives are the ample parking, good service, great food and they finish the night by giving you a delicious little dark orange chocolate if you feel like something sweet. Would I recommend it here? I give it a resounding Yes!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Always a pleasant yumcha with the family. Dim sum tasted great and service was great.

Never disappointed by Gold Leaf! There are all the high quality authentic dishes and dim sum available, freshly served to customers with trolleys. The managers and staff are all so friendly and helpful! The restaurant is spacious with comfortable seating. If you are craving for authentic Cantonese dim sum or dishes, you should come and visit!

Didn’t have a good start because they stuffed up our booking but did manage to rectify it eventually. The staff service was top notch (prompt service and very tentative). Food was very good and reasonable priced (had mud crab plus 7 dishes for 10 adults and 2 kids) added up to just under $500. They also included fruit and dessert/soup at the end.

Food was excellent; particularly the oysters, which I can sometimes be picky about. Service was fantastic.
I was very pleased with the atmosphere. It was a wonderful birthday for a family elder.

Lovely tasting food. Waiters and waitresses were top notch, serving, constantly clearing our plates and checking in to make sure everything was good. Lobster was fresh, sweet, excellent texture and well cooked. It lacked ginger flavour and pieces though. Couldn't taste it. The plates were far too small making it hard to eat without spilling onto the table. It would have been easier to have a whole one on a plate with noodles with a side plate for empty shell.

Special fried rice was great.

Yum cha is good. The waiter and waitress would come around you and provide some dim sum that you choose. The dinner is awesome as well. I like the duck and some HK cuisine. It's a good place to reunion with friends and family!

Me, my son and my daughter had a pleasant experience here to have yum cha. As we are vegetarian, the staff recommended several dishes for us. and it perfectly suits us and didn't order too much. the stuff are very friendly and helpful. impressive

Great selections, typical canton dim sum, price are good for the size of portions, book ahead so you don’t regret as they can be very busy even weekdays!

Second time here. I find their service a little slow (long wait for the trolleys to get to you), but once they come they keep rolling in.
Service wise they are excellent, very attentive and respond promptly to requests. Special shout-out to the auntie who looked after our table, she even offered to change our dirty plates mid-way, never experienced this at yumcha but was pleasantly delighted.
Their food is really good as well, just the right flavours that do not leave you super thirsty after. Must make a booking in advance though as they get really busy.

Great place for a get together! Nice food here as well, cannot complain. Love the ambience, classic yum cha faire and friendly staff. Would come again!

Shook hands with the owner, he was cool. They have some very large round tables where where some very large families were seated. Food was great and promptly arrived. Waiters were all around and were happy to help get certain yumcha items if there weren't any carts carrying it nearby. Prices were reasonable imo.

GREAT OPTION FOR YUM CHA
Gold Leaf has several outlets in Melbourne - all are good quality.
The food is (in our case, yum cha {or dim sum as it is also known} ) was hot, fast to arrive on the food trolleys, varied and tasty.
Although the restaurant was packed with customers, the service was prompt and special requests (jug of water for the table, forks for the kids) were dealt with chereily and promptly.
Our extended family group of 11 people scored a large round table by the window and the noise level was OK.
The venue is quite well maintained, although best to avoid the toilet unless you are busting!!
People with mobility issues will have a little trouble negotiating the two heavy entry doors and may also find it challenging to get to their seats as the tables are very tightly packed.

Wish I had more pictures of the decor and food, but it was a lovely place that really reminded me of the yum cha I used to visit.
Everyone thought the food was delicious.
Staff were busy but kind, even when we accidentally stayed longer than was booked.

Great food and great customer service! Place is spacious and has ample car parking. We reserved a table so it was quick and easy from the moment we went in the restaurant to getting seated. They also constantly check that we have everything we need and helped us with food recommendation.

Authentic Chinese Yum Cha, the food is delicious, plenty of place to park.
There is a vastly of dim sim dishes to select from.
The staffs are highly trained and able to clean up the empty small dim sims dishes.
Highly recommend for Yum Cha.
