I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment in Melbourne, where I experienced an exceptional American BBQ feast. The beef rib was exquisitely tender and succulent, effortlessly falling off the bone. The platter for 2 provided a delightful assortment of flavors, including pork, beef ribs, onion rings, chips, pulled pork, pickles, coleslaw salad, and bacon. The overall ambiance transported me to an authentic farm-style BBQ in America. The cocktails stunning. I highly recommend making a reservation, as this place tends to be quite popular. It was an unforgettable culinary experience, and I eagerly anticipate returning for more delectable BBQ delights. 🍖🔥

Couldn't have enjoyed more. The Birthday deal is epic and the portion sizes are amazing.

Parking could be a challenge but there is a tram stop right outside. Good way to end the day at the beach with some good that will suerly knock you out.

Will definitely recommend and will be back soon.

The degustation dinner was outstanding. All five courses were sensational, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Each course was complimented by great wine and the meat was flavorsome, beautifully aged and succulent.

After seeing all the posts on social media decided to give Third Wave Cafe a try.
OMG what can I say, delicious, huge and very reasonably priced.
4 of us attempted to eat the shared platter but couldn’t finish it. Very happy we could take the rest home.
Excellent friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Was fun watching all the different meals arriving at tables.

Absolutely delicious!!! We couldn’t finish the platter for 2 so left with a doggy bag and enough food for another dinner for 2! Everything on the platter was delicious!! The meat, the fries, the bacon, the veggies… Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on their menu!!!

We had the best experience here! The balance of melt in your mouth smoked meat, creamy coleslaw, sour pickles spicy and sweet sauces topped with gorgeous service from the staff (in particular Acha) has made third wave a new regular for us! Hard to mark a favourite menu item, however the oink balls was truly special as well as the beef brisket. The chicken was wonderful with the coleslaw as the sauce was a little spicy.

Clem, the birthday meal is bananas, check out the candy bacon on a washing line, had a lil Mac and cheese and a big ribs too, it was a challenge but they don't skimp on the size. An impressive selection for the birthday menu.

If you’re a meat lover this place is a must go! Came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday and the food was amazing and very tasty! Service was very good and the staff were friendly. I recommend the sweet potato loaded fries and the cheeseburger royale as seen in the picture. Also, you can get a free meal on your birthday which is great! 100% recommend this restaurant especially if you enjoy meats. :)

This place is a muuuust go! The meat just falls off the bone, melts in your mouth, so juicy and tender 🤤 everything on your plate is a must eat, even down to the waffle fries and onion rings. The mac and cheese is PROPER! We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday, and so used a birthday voucher which was such great value! Order from a select birthday menu, and it was still a big meal! We ended up taking a lot home which is fine. But I don’t understand why so many people don’t, and let it get thrown away!

We love how there are monthly specials, and will be back regularly for sure! And the tram stop is literally outside the restaurant, and is also right next to the beach so you can lay there in your food coma on a good day 😂

Excellent. Food was spot on. Beer was cold and pretty good for their own. The place was pretty busy. We had a share platter for 4, and there was a bit leftover. Go there hungry. I recommend a visit.

Fast and friendly service. They deliver on serving size as promised. The 2 person platter had enough to cater for up to 4 people. Flavours were good, but may not quite live up to the hype it has created for itself. Well patroned and definitely worth a visit. Enjoyed our visit

Quite possibly the best burger I've ever eaten! Hopefully the business grows and can expand to the rest of the country. This flavour deserves to reach as many places as possible, it's incredible!

Enjoyed an exceptional meal with a diverse selection of dishes. The chicken wings were cooked to perfection, with a delicious glaze that was both sweet and savory. The seasoned fries were crispy and well-spiced, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. The cornbread was a highlight as well—moist, with a delicate sweetness that complemented the meal beautifully. The presentation was casual yet appealing, with each dish inviting you to dive in. Would highly recommend for a laid-back dinner with friends or family!

This is my Melbourne's favorite American barbecue restaurant I have been there many times. This time I ordered the monthly special Thor's Hammer. The huge portion and the impact of the dish as soon as it is served are breathtaking. It is very suitable for gathering with friends. One plate is enough for five people, and the average price per person is about $30, which is a very good deal.

You really need to be hungry when you come here. First the good points. The staff are really friendly. The food is delicious in all aspects, like next level. If it's your birthday, you can get some free food if you register on their website. The bad points..... there aren't any.

Saw this place on social media a while back and followed. Since booking a trip to Australia and subsequently ending up in Melbourne for a few days, we were 100% committed to visiting.

My concern was whether reality met with the social media perception.

The food was exceptional and absolutely met our expectations! As far as I'm concerned, it was worth every dollar!

We may be back for another serving before we leave!

I had a delightful experience at Port Melbourne Beach, making a spontaneous visit on a scorching weekend. The brunch at Third Wave Cafe was a highlight, with delicious pancakes and delightful cornbread. The extra touch of a specially made puppycino for my Frenchie babies was incredibly sweet, showcasing the exceptional service and warmth of this cafe.

Always so busy and popular because the food is REALY GOOD! Huge pieces of super tender and juicy meat, crispy on the outside with complimentary sauce! The cocktails were amazing too! The only thing is that the food came so late and our time slot was over before we even finished 1/3 of the food so had to leave…… And for some reason staff was ignoring my table, had to go up to the counter to ask for help…..

Slow cooked, fall off the bone meat that melts in your mouth! Very good value for money and awesome sharing options that don't leave anyone hungry.
