Abington Farm B&B

It's a nice place, pretty clean and perfect if you are planning to go in winter. Bernie is so kind and a great host. There's plenty of space for dogs to play and for people to relax.

We had a lovely stay here. It was the perfect location to take our dog and we can’t wait to come back. Penny, the most special little resident kelpie dog, we absolutely adored you and you made our stay so pleasant. Your visits were the highlight of our trip. Thank you for having us!

There were so many parts of our stay that made it such a great and “cup-filling” experience:

The location - an easy and accessible drive from Melbourne made it a breeze to get to. The picturesque and relaxing surrounds at the farm, from river to fields to resident camels and native gardens - it was a peaceful and clearly well-loved space to unwind in.

The amenities - we stayed in the Dairy and were highly impressed at the cleanliness, comfort (most comfy beds, linen and pillows!), a fully stocked kitchen and ample space for our family.

The consideration taken by Bernie and Di to provide every possible need we had: generous breakfast supplies (bacon, eggs, bread, cereal, milk, jam, Vegemite, honey), firewood/pit and much more!

That welcome also extended to our fur boy, who was lavished with pats and love (and made his own new friends, the lovable Mack and character-filled Nova). Not often pets are welcomed into the space as warmly as our pup was, which only added to our time at the farm.

The time to welcome us - Bernie and Di took time to find out what we wanted and provided it based on our needs. We were lucky to have tours around the sprawling acres, stories of the history behind Abington Farm and the tales shared between travellers.

The communication from Bernie and Di prior to arrival - a personalised phone call, emails with extra information (like how to get there, what we’d find on arrival and how to reach out for anything we needed).

Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to a) recommend this to others wanting a beautiful ‘escape’ to the country or b) return back here again soon!

This place is special. No bells or whistles but full of serenity, simplicity, homely comforts and back to nature. Our human and Canine hosts are pretty wonderful as well. Looking forward to returning soon 😀

What a fantastic stay! I cannot recommend enough. A hidden gem.
We stayed at the Barn and it exceeded all expectations. The place is so nice and cosy, and the surroundings are beautiful, super peaceful and serene. The hosts were lovely and really made sure we had everything we needed, wished we had stayed for longer!
We really enjoyed the Barn as it has a lot of character and a more antique style, everything looked perfect. There was a firepit right outside with firewood ready to use. It was super clean and the bed was really comfortable. The spa was amazing as well, with a beautiful view of the sunset. They provide plenty to eat for breakfast, which is a really nice addition! Really couldn't have asked for more.
There are two other units with river view that also look very nice. Two pups are very friendly and welcoming, and we brought our dog who enjoyed his stayed very much too!
We can't wait to be back and stay for longer! Thanks so much for an incredible and much needed getaway. I really appreciate and can notice how the hosts make sure you feel welcomed and at home, to just relax and unwind. Thanks again!

Wow! We had the most incredible experience staying at Abington Farm. Bernie and Di were amazing hosts, and went above and beyond in so many ways. As soon as we arrived I felt welcomed and relaxed. The unit we stayed in had everything you could possibly need and so much more - it was very private, neat and tidy, with two big decks overlooking the river, plus a spa bath and super comfortable bed. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of the birds chirping and the river flowing was truly remarkable. I highly highly recommend Abington Farm I cannot wait to come back and visit, I had the most amazing time. Thank you!!

3 night stay over the Queens birthday weekend in the Dairy. It was cold, wet and windy so stayed inside most of the time. Very warm inside main living area, fabulous views to see through large windows.Perfect setting to relax, read a book, play games and watch movies. Functional kitchen with an abundance of food, juices, milk etc for the 3 breakfasts. Bernie stacked up the wood pile as we would have liked to sit outside around a warm fire but the weather was against us.

A beautiful country property with clean, spacious guest rooms. Bernie and Di are very warm and friendly hosts, and my partner and I had such a relaxing weekend away thanks to their generous hospitality. We will definitely stay here again!

A beautifully located property which is peaceful and scenic. The room had bags of character and was pre-warmed for me on arrival. Bernie was a great host, communicated details well and left me a great selection for a hearty breakfast. Thank you.

Had such a lovely time here, even though it was only one night. We even got bonus puppy cuddles in the morning. The hosts including the doggo were super friendly. Wonderfully peaceful & beautiful area too ☀

A hidden gem for a very reasonable price. Clean and spacious bungalows by a creek, free kayaks to use (plus free lessons from the host), and two friendly dogs who will play fetch with you. Amazing place to stay.

Watched the sunrise through the light filled living area at the “dairy”. Can see green all round. Great fir the soul. Warm, cosy, private and clean. Enjoyed the games too and will use the fire pit next time we come. Just gorgeous, thanks Bernie.

What a wonderful get away. We are back from the city to the dairy. Bernie is a wonderful host and only offers the most wonderful experience.

Just spent two nights here, host’s were amazing, scenery was incredible. The bungalows were private and spotlessly clean, extremely well provisioned. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. Would highly recommend. We will be back. Thanks guy’s.
