Heyfield Railway Hotel

Had a group of 11 plus 2 dogs for lunch on a Sunday. Greeted by the friendliest gents and ladies! Sat outside, had Excellent food and amazing service, staff were great with kids - highly recommend - thank you for a beautiful lunch.

All the other good reviews were right: Friendly staff, spacious clean rooms with everything you need (toiletries, tea, coffee, milk and even Arnotts biscuits), thoroughly enjoyable dinner in a gorgeous small town pub, great value for money. Lovely town. Can’t wait to come back.

2nd time we've stayed here now. Great meals and fantastic accommodation. It was a Friday night so you will need to book for a meal but one of the best beds in a motel room we've had for a long time.

So beautiful place to be. A gem outside Melbourne ✨✨ the room is so big, so clean, so tidy and confortable. We are so in shock with this hotel cause we have been in others that are very bad and expensive and this is a dream. We love it!

Wonderful pub with excellent friendly staff. I highly recommend the salt and pepper squid and the steak sandwich. The rooms are clean and modern and the staff and locals make you feel welcome with a few laughs along the way. Can’t wait to stay again very soon thanks Gael and the crew

Very happy with my stay. The food and service at the pub was fantastic and the room was great value for money. I will be back for sure.

Update (Aug 23) Load fries and BBQchicken Burger, great food and plenty of it, served with a smile.
Update (Oct 22) the famous pork spare rims were on offer and did not disappoint a super good meal.
Great country pub meal and a good size meal. The biggest steak on a plate we have seen in years. Some nights are a limited menu due to being short staffed (as lots of places are July 22)
The crew run a good ship and i doubt you will be disapointed.

What a great country pub. Great venue, wonderful food and awesome staff. The accommodation is clean a well appointed. Their Moto is “Come as a customer and leave as a friend” and they lived up to this.

Stopped in on a work trip away. The only thing better than the food was the staff. Got a parma, lamb cutlets and a chocolate pudding for desert. Everything was superb. Was impressed with the excellent selection of drinks available from the bottle shop. The accomodation was decent as well, however I was so tired after the food I just crashed and didn’t get to enjoy the spa bath.

Very friendly service, quiet location in the centre of town, great get away perfect for friends families or couples 👌down side there's not always someone there when you need extras but if you need anything good to ask when you turn up to collect your key's! Still a wonderful little place to relax & unwind & very affordable too!

What a great surprise..booked accommodation for a golf weekend in Maffra only for locals to advise good luck with that we didn't even know they did accommodation. Clean fresh modern rooms with double glazed windows for a nice quiet sleep. $55 a head when sharing can't ask for more than that. Super friendly staff as well. Looking for somewhere to stay go no further 👍👍👍😊

VERY friendly staff. I had a very warm welcome even though I arrived at about 10pm on a Wednesday. I stayed four nights and mostly ate in the bistro. Reasonably priced and good value meals.

Great food always great service only decent steak I can get under $40 good old country pub.

Ordered scotch fillet steak with mushroom gravy, chips and salad. Followed by the biggest serve of sticky date and icecream ever, to share. Deliciously scrummy 😉 Everyone else enjoyed what was ordered also. Great service from friendly wait staff and bar also, kids enjoyed the playroom too. Asked for a candle with dessert as we had forgotten ours.....no problem at all. Thanks to everyone.

We had a great stay here at the Railway Hotel the rooms were basic but extremely conformable and definitely value for money. Please to find the owners have renovated the rooms with ba great shower and installed sound insulation and double glazed windows to provide a peaceful night's sleep even with the band playing in the pub. Highly recommended

Often go for tea, busy place with lovely friendly staff. Meals are so generous and tasty, never been disappointed.....keep it up

Stopped in on cup day, got a great table by the fire, atmosphere was warm and inviting with lovely service, meals were fab, and great value too.
