Cataract on Paterson

As Melbourne foodies. We were blown away with the hospitality and customer service at this place. We got the seafood platter and oh my!! Nuff said we were back 2days later to try something else on the menu and had to give their special Easter desserts ago. I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

I love the Tasmanian scallops, very sweet. Steak was perfect. Tasmania potatoes are really something 🤩

We were travelling from Sydney and found this restaurant on Google. The food was amazing, the environment was cosy and all the staff were lovely. Especially a waiter called Patric, was amazing at his job, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. His service really made our dining experience a higher level. Highly recommended.

Totally recommend this place for a great dinner.
The food was outstanding. I mean, outstanding.
We thought the entree and mains were the highlight but then the desserts came out which blew us away.

We ended up eating here both nights we were in Launceston and really enjoyed it!
It’s a wee bit pricey but we found that common in most restaurants.
The first night we had the seafood platter for 2 (pictured) and it was huge and had plenty of variety.
The second night we had the mix grill and a a Parma which were both very nice and great size!
The desserts seem to be the big ticket item as them are unique and presented beautifully (deconstructed apple pie pictured)

Our favourite place to eat out in Launceston. Food is always amazing cannot fault it! Cocktails are always changing and so delicious. My partner loves the ice cream cold stone! Staff are very lovely and accommodating.

Recently trended for my mums 60th birthday dinner. The food was incredible. Excellent value for money - great portion sizes. Couldn’t recommend more. Can’t wait to return when we venture down to Tassie again.

Amazing meals, fresh and hot, staff went above and beyond and even added a special touch to our dessert. New staff member Sasha did an amazing job, friendly and courteous, definately dine here again.

This is one of the best restaurants i’ve been to in Tasmania. The service was fantastic, everyone was incredibly lovely and kind and accommodated to us even though we had not booked a reservation and they were packed. The octopus appetiser was delectable and the daiquiri was just so refreshing. The seafood pasta was cooked to perfection and refreshing while the lamb was just so tender. Lastly, the crème brûle stole my heart. I have never felt so many things and thought so much with the first bite. Holy hell, this was a marvel. Should I move to launceston ?

A must visit when you're in Launceston for a great and truly Tasmanian cuisine experience as they source the freshest Tasmanian products. The meats (beef, lamb, and chicken) are halal and od recommend the cataract twist oysters and everything grilled kn the stone. Thank you Reilly for a great service and recommending us the best meal ever in Launceston.

Spectacular dinner. It's rare to find jalepeno poppers this good. My fiance said the salmon was possibly the best she's ever had. The meats on the 'paddock to stone' stonegrill were amazing and the chocolate cake panookie was a great way to finish a top-notch meal. Place was packed, recommend booking.

We went to share a family celebration. Our waiter Patrick was sensational. So friendly, funny, happy to banter with us, helpful, knowledgeable, definitely added to our experience. The food was delicious, not too big you get full quickly, but not so small you need 17 to fill you up. You could taste all the flavours, it was hot. Just excellent. We also ordered cocktails, and they were just delicious, not too strong. Everything here was fantastic and really helped make our night great. Will definitely be back again soon.

Food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails looked and tasted amazing. Definitely worth every cent. 👏🏼 also our waiter, I can’t remember his name but has the best customer service ever. He has waited on us a few times beforehand and every time he is always pleasant and so so informative. He definitely goes above and beyond for everybody. He deserves a pay rise 🤭

Had friends from mainland visiting to celebrate significant birthdays. We had a lovely dinner and they were blown away by the deserts. Always enjoy Cataract.

Wow.. First timer and definitely amazed! They served great foods! We ordered the 250 g steak, Special Baramundi, and Frenched Chicken, with beers and red wine. Love them! Friendly staffs too! Highly recommended and you'll enjoy dinning there! Thank you Cataract team!

Visting from Melbourne. First time eating here. Booked on recommendation from Launceston Central as we had no idea where to go for my Birthday dinner. I was not disappointed the staff where attentive and the food and service we received was great. Meals where fantastic and a decent serves the dessert i had was sublime it was called saturn . Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.
