The Tav' Old Bar

My bf and I had dinner at The Tav, My partner had the rump steak chips & salad with the creamy garlic sauce , the rump was cooked to perfection ( middle rare ) the chips were tasty and the salad was really nice but the sauce was omg good, it was a busy Saturday night but it didn’t take long for your meal to arrive which was great and it was hot and delicious! Definitely recommend the Tav for dinner and we’ll back for sure. 👍🏽
My bf and I are back at The Tav for dinner coz the food was delicious before, this time we had the lamb cutlets mashed potato veges and mint sauce the chef didn’t let us down , it was delicious and the mint sauce was made the meal , I had the nachos with extra sour cream and it was really delicious I licked the bowl clean , great taste , lots of it , I couldn’t eat it fast enough! I would highly recommend The Tav for any meal really , coz every meal we’ve had there was tasted like home cooking.🤌🏻Chef kisses to the chef the kitchen staff and crew! We’ll definitely be back !

Great place to stop & have a bite to eat. Friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, the food is delicious & greatly priced. Will definitely recommend this place

We visited while on holiday. Went for dinner & hubby got the Calamari rings with salad. They melted in your mouth & tasted amazing. I got the fish with salad it was very enjoyable. Yum!
Staff were great & as we were leaving one of the door staff helped me get the baby to car as it was pouring rain. She grabbed an umbrella & held it over us.
The band was really good & atmosphere was great. Will be back on our next visit that way.

Loved this place. My wife and I are holidaying in Tuncurry and were looking for some place to do some sightseeing and have lunch. We discovered The Tav' on the internet. We checked the menu and were pleased to see that they offered a few old favourites as lunch specials. So, we decided to make this our lunch stop. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The barman greeted us and told us he was pleased we decided to visit. We ordered a couple of drinks from their very large variety of beers and wines and ordered our lunch. We both decided to have the bangers and mash ($16 each). When the meals arrived, we nearly fell over! There were 3 good-sized sausages on a large mound of mashed potato, all covered in beautiful onion gravy and peas. We couldn't finish the meals and were offered a takeaway container by the lovely kitchen receptionist for what was left. It was enough for our dinner that night. I highly recommend The Tav' for a meal and/or drink. There's even a courtesy bus if you're staying in Old Bar. Thank you so much to the bar and kitchen staff for such a memorable experience ❤.

Had a great night here - it was raffle night, which was a bit of fun even though we didn’t win anything.

We did however have some great pub food -
Herb and garlic bread, Beer battered Barramundi and Pasta Meatballs which were delicious and seriously large in size.

The staff were welcoming and really helpful, from the driver of the Courtesy Bus telling us the system on how to get a lift back, to the security guys being really friendly while we waited for the bus.
Would definitely recommend if you are lucky enough to be spending some time in Old Bar!

Went to Old Bar Tavern for dinner with my folks. The place was down to earth as ever and had a huge crowd in full swing. The food was great. We ordered chilli prawns and two roast pork specials. it was the end of dinner service in a bistro style kitchen yet this is what we got (see pics). Even the sweet potato (which I don’t like much) was seasoned to taste great. My mum who complains about everything said hers was great. Someone in the kitchen really knows what they’re doing! Beer was crypt cold and as crisp as a Malcolm Turnbull comeback. Gordon Ramsay would give this five stars, thus so must I!

Super friendly staff & AWESOME live music including Open Mic on Tues nights from 6:30 where upcoming musos are encouraged to get up & have a go.
Oh, and the BEST food!

Great food and quick service. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a great little pub.

Have reviewed before, great spot in a nice, underatted town.we always call in to old bar when heading north and that means a compulsory visit to the tavern, food is great, beer is cold and staff friendly. Good spot out back in beer garden where dogs are welcome, playground for kids and even when busy no long wait, love it

Exceptional Service. Supported a young Lady to Old Bar Tavern for lunch and the Manager was so patient and wonderful, showing awesome hospitality and customer service, atmosphere was great with music playing in the background and lunch was delicious.

Stppped in for lunch. Soup special was great and had a very nice T Bone. Friendly staff. Worth’s visit.

Had the best night. Who would have thought on a Tuesday !. Live band playing, Fiona and band was amazing. Tash from the restaurant helped me decide what to eat. All the staff were friendly and genuinely happy to have everyone around. I cant wait to go back. Best mid week night I've had in a long time.

Great place to have a meal. Great atmosphere. My family really enjoyed our time there.

Only 3hrs 40min from Sydney loved the coastline on one side farmland on the other

Unfortunately there was no Carlton dry on tap, but still had a great selection of cold ones to choose from. Atmosphere was great, bar staff was very friendly, will definitely be back there again 👌

Food and service was outstanding. Even a courtesy bus to pick you up and drop you off .

Good bus service. Ohhhh yeah ice cold long necks even at 10am. And they don't turn off the coolroom at night so cartons stay cold not like the other bottle shop you can't buy a carton and drink one straight away you have to take it home and put in the freezer to get cold

TOFS MC enjoyed a great lunch at the Tav after an awesome historic walking tour of Old Bar with local historian Janine Roberts. An excellent day. Thanks to all involved. Cheers.

Unfortunately didn't get any pictures, though the pizza's were really good, service was fast. Beer was cold. Made for a good Saturday arvo. The addition of playground was perfect for our kid. Will definitely be back for another go.
