Melanie, the team and this farm are my #lifegoals right now: chem-free, organic, sustainable and all-round good vibes.

I camped with 3 teenagers, and saw such teamwork that we don’t usually see at home (because social media/mobile phones) - pitching the tent, collecting kindle, making the fire, cooking the food, clearing and washing the dishes. They loved bushwalking and discovering the artworks hidden in the trees and foliage.

The kids found an old guitar in a dusty case and played for an afternoon while we cooked lunch. It was missing a string, but they tuned it to pay it forward to other people who might discover it.

We were camped right next to Goldie, the gorgeous ex-racehorse, who greeted us every morning and evening. Behind us were the jasmine trees, which filled our campsite with beautiful scents. We woke up to the sounds of harmonious birds welcoming the sun, and of the roosters, who roamed the farm with their other free-range friends.

Their bespoke sustainable systems are brilliant - the hot shower, the drop toilets, outdoor kitchen sink. I’m sad that we didn’t book a farm tour, but we’ll definitely be back to learn more about the farm!

HOT TIPS:
- Ditch the frypan in your packing list and use the shared BBQ. It’s a great way to meet the other campers and share your lament for your imminent return to the urban jungle.
- Try their fresh eggs, which you can find at the common area shed. What a treat - nothing beats the taste!
- Bring firewood and ask them for a fire pit; it’s so worth it for those cool rainforest evening breezes!
