I eat here for lunch semi-regularly and all the food has been great so far for the price point in the city area. Their hot bar food is $12-13 while the menu food is about $15-16 which is an absolute steal for the portion and the quality they serve. Try any dish here and you probably won't be disappointed!

One of the original Malaysian eateries in Sydney and still the best. Their Hainanese Chicken Rice is legendary and the nasi lemakis also excellent. They have a good range of choices if you can make it there during a weekday lunch. This is genuine Malaysian food served in a food court that feels like you are in Asia. Long may they continue.

Finally tried the popular Hainanese Chicken Rice at Sayong Curry and Laksa! Juicy chicken, flavourful rice, nice soup & only $12.50 😮 (at the time of this review)!! The chilli sauce is more garlicky than spicy though. Really enjoyed this & would come back here for sure!

I have mixed reviews about their other foods, but it seems Hainanese Chicken Rice is their specialty. Their 2-3 choices with rice looks good & seems to be great portions 👍

The food was delicious! And worth the money. We ordered the laksa , singapore meehoon and nasi goreng. I felt the nasi goreng has room for improvement. But the other two dishes was definitely on point.

The chicken rice was absolutely delicious! The servings are very generous, considering its cheap price. The lines are long during weekdays lunch, and the chicken rice easily sells out so go early. They're open on Saturdays lunch too and is definitely not as busy as the rest of the week, so I prefer going those days. They usually do card payments/ eftpos but during weekends they usually only transcact in cash so have some on hand if you do come in at that time.

I’ve been coming for countless lunches and put my two cents thought since yelp, and zomato time.
I am craving to beef rendang and baby octopus from this place so I decided to come again to revisit for lunch.
Unfortunately beef rendang is not on the menu anymore, instead now they do have chicken rendang. Rendang sauce ( Malaysian type rendang ) that they do serves here still as good as I remembered.
Since I came just over lunch time, the hot food display wasn’t available much choices.
Still cheap as I remember, even 3 choices for $12.
Definitely value for money, and can’t complaint about the taste for sure.

Bang for the buck! We had 2 orders of their combination laksa, and the serving size was so big that we weren't able to finish it.

Too bad because it tasted so good! It's creamy, it's spicy, and there's lots of toppings.

Will definitely go back here when we have the chance.

Remind me of Singapore hawker. The food is super decent in size and tasteful in flavour. Price is affordable. What a gem

For a food court establishment, this was quite good for the price. Fast, tasty and good value seafood laksa.

Nasi Lemak, $13, tasted good. Probably on the level of an average hawker stall in Singapore or Malaysia.

I chose chicken rendang as the meat dish. It was lemak enough, and chicken was tender.

Added 2pcs of Fried Fish for $1 each! So worth the price!!

One thing for me is that I prefer the ikan billis and sambal separate, so that you get the crunch from the ikan billis. But this tasted good! Personally, imo it wasn't spicy enough, but when mixed with the rice, it brings out the lemak flavour of the rice.

5/5 and will be back to try their other stuff😋😋

Great Laksa with thick broth and if any one want more chilli you can ask them for the chilli to add too.

Sayong is consistently good and offers filling portions of authentic Malaysian food. Peanut sauce for satay chicken is great.

Food was incredible and tasty. The laksa was full of flavour, creamy from the coconut cream and moderately spicy. The portion was huge and I struggled to complete the dish even though I am a heavy eater. The prawns in the dish are juicy and soft and tasted very fresh.

Oh my god the food here is so delicious it’s a hidden gem. If you like spicy authentic Malaysian then this is as real as it gets. Don’t expect to get phone reception down here but at least you can enjoy a generous lunch in peace

Incredible flavours, prices and amazing food. Huge portions, you can't go anywhere these days and find a meal for this price that is this good. It's in a small food court joint and you have to go in an alleyway. I got combination laksa and a fried noodle dish - both were incredible!

Easily the best laksa in town - the taste, heat and texture of the noodles and size are on point + great value for money. You wont find anything that good for 13 roos.

Bonus: great Hainanese Chicken or Chicken Rice - lots of umami flavour, juicy chicken despite the serving I got was breast/wings part and the hot sauce is like no other - way better than the ones you find in fancy restaurants for only 11.50 roos.

The only downside to this place is it pretty hard to find if you don't know your way around Pitt Street.

Might just be the best chicken rice in the the cbd. $9.50 also means it's damn good value.

After eating there again, I can say it is consistently amazing. Boosted the rating to a 5/5!
