Overall a very good spot for a late night dinner. We rocked up at about 12:30am to get some food when everything else is closed. The food is great for the early hours of the morning and the vibe and service of the place is welcoming!

Definitely a good spot to go if you want to have a late night date!

Had been here a few times previously but to the bar downstairs. Finally got to try the restaurant on Thursday night for 5 of us but we didn’t have a booking, however the host was kind enough to book us on the next available table at 9.15pm (45 min wait).

The dinner was incredible. We ordered many items to share from charcuterie, pasta and mains. We had one vegetarian in the group so ordered some veg options which were also amazing. Finished the night with the cheese platter and some espresso martinis! Service was great even though it was a busy night. Food was so good, didn’t even have time to take photos!!

Big Poppas has a very intimate vibe, the perfect place to try delicious food. Plus, the downstairs area is really cool with a DJ. Me and my friends loved the experience!

When I was traveling in Sydney, I initially had plans to go to a different restaurant after a whole day work, but my driver strongly recommended this bistro, and it turned out that car drivers couldn't have been more right about finding great late-night food! The service here is excellent as well, and the recommended wines are also fantastic. If you want to have a delicious Italian meal after a night of fun, coming here is definitely the right choice!

Everything was on point! Burrata salad was fresh and delicious! The crispy freekeh was a good add on to the texture.
Pasta was very al dente and flavourful.
Chill vibes and friendly service. Good for date nights.

Big Poppa’s is an Italian restaurant with a great pasta selection. Everything is delicious and authentic. Lamb Ragu is served with parmigiano Reggiano Cheese so fresh it’s grated onto your plate in front of you by a wait staff. The pasta is all fresh handmade. No box pasta here. Carbonara is made with actual guancale, the cured pork cheek. They go above and beyond.

The Burata Ox Heart tomatoes were one of the best entrees I’ve had at any restaurant. They’re popping with flavor. Served with a quality sourdough it was the perfect start to the night.

Throughout the experience the staff were attentive and always made sure everything was running smoothly and you’re having a good time. A manager even came to say hello which was a very kind and personal touch.

If you’re looking for pasta in Sydney, this is a great place to check out. Very recommended.

I didn’t order alcohol so can’t comment on that. Maybe next time.

My 3 friends and I had such a wonderful experience, our waitress was beautiful and informative, she was attentive and provided us with great recommendations, the food was wonderful and so was the wine (the Italian waitresses rec!) I loved it, thank you! loved our time there, and will recommend it to others.

Very rare to have a restaurant that still serves food after 12am. Been coming here for years, from dinners at 7:30pm to pasta and cheese boards after a night out!
Service is always brilliant, amazing staff.
Drinks and cocktails wonderful too.
I will say it can get a touch rowdy downstairs around 10/11, but I tend to keep to the sanctuary that is upstairs (unless that is your vibe).
Recommend the Cacio e pepe (they sometimes will still do this even if not on menu) and the Ragu.

Great atmosphere, din lighting, music , attentive service and food was fantastic. We got the set menu $75 and felt the portion sizes were fantastic. We left not finishing everything and were full. Loved the lamb pasta, the fresh salad and burrata and cured meats.

Food was delicious!! We ordered a couple of starters and mains and everything was super amazing. Would definitely recommend.

A must visit! Only came in for a drink, ended up staying for dinner. Amazing atmosphere and service from all the bartenders. Izac & Oscar did amazing to make us feel welcomed and recommending food & drink.

Came here for the Chef’s Selection of Cheese and good ol’ carbs lovingly made in the form of pasta. If you’re into cheese, wine, cocktail and dancing in a hip hop club to burn it all off, then you’ve come to the right place!

Honestly could not recommend this place more. My girlfriend and I had an AMAZING dinner here. Not only was the food great but the staff truly was amazing! They even gave us personal bar recomendations at the end of the meal as we are visiting from out of town and were not too familiar with the bar scene in Sydney. The recommendations were amazing as well. Overall truly was an amazing dining experience from beginning to end and if you decide to try this place out I promise you will not be disappointed.

Very nice attached especially the basement level (not sure what they call it).
Food was very pleasant, cocktails were very good and staff was nice and friendly.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while and I'm so impressed with the incredible service we had from our warm welcome to table service to even the meal placements. Our meals were just okay but the overall vibe, service, music and ambience will see us return again soon! Thank you Gem and the rest of the staff.

We loved the service from Isaac, he made our first experience at Big Poppas quite lovely. We'd requested a change of seating and the staff were more than accommodating, which we appreciated. Kes had great customer service and ensured we had a good night in the underground bar section.

The food was delicious and we especially loved the pappardelle.

Dining here was super delicious, however the music just sealed it for me! I can't wait to return to this place, especially for the cocktails!
Shout out to our waiter, Lewis, who was by far the best to help us with our order, great service and more importantly, put up with our tipsy jokes. Thanks for a great evening 😊
