Almond Bar

Amazing. Took the time to enjoy their Valentine's day set menu and loved every bite. I left feeling satisfied. All the flavours were so amazing and everything was delicious. The staff were super accommodating of my girlfriend's dietary requirement and food was delivered to the table at exactly the right time. Good job Almond Bar, you guys are awesome.

Had set menu dinner at VIAND pop up reastaurant at Almond Bar 21/ Oct/ 2020. Thai fusion food designed / cooked by chef Annita Potter. The nine courses composed of the most exquisite flavours combined with matching wines. Michelin standard food. You must try it.

Love this Syrian (middle eastern) restaurant in the heart of Darlinghurst. It has great decor/ambience, great food, friendly and warm service. My favourite dishes are the lamb sheesh, grilled halloumi, rice with lamb and Fattoush salad. The restaurant has some great wines too. A must try. Highly recommend it.

Amazing ambiance, service and of course food! We were looking for something special for our last night in Sydney and this place went beyond our expectations! Can't say enough good things about the staff who were attentive and friendly. If you're thinking of going here, just go! The rosewater ice cream is absolutely delicious, best dessert I've ever had 🙂

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Have been there for dinner and breakfast. Enjoyed both but like the dinner better. Loved trying the breakfast though, the food was different to anything I'd tried and the food was really yummy

Lovely atmosphere, attentive service. We were not familiar with Syrian food so asked for suggestions as to serving sizes. Perfect. Tasty lamb skewers. Dessert was beautifully presented. Handy location if you are visiting the hospital like we were. It made for a wonderful escapade. It’s fun, good value and the food is cooked with love! We are already planning a return. We've eaten at Almond Bar before and hopefully will do so again. We go there specially for the Syrian Duck with that delightful pomegranate flavour. This time we had a salad with shredded haloumi to accompany it. Good wine too. Service was helpful and pleasant as always. We like the little seats too.

I had forgotten how amazing the food is at Almond Bar. Three of us shared the Chef’s Menu banquet and it was the most generous and delicious meal I’ve had in a long time. The dishes were refined and full of the most amazing combinations of flavours. Our favourite was the chicken mukloubi! The calamari was so soft it had the texture of butter. We paired our meal with a smooth Malbec. The service was incredible and the price was low for the standard of food and service. Run by two gorgeous sisters and their cheeky cousin, this place is a hidden middle eastern jewel!

Just perfect. This place never fails to please. Amazing food and service, and the atmosphere is lovely. Their dips are amazing, as is the calamari. Good wine list (no BYO). It's a bit small and narrow, but that only adds to it's charm.

So many courses and each one an astounding morsel, building towards a holistically fabulous dinner experience. Ask for the chef's recommendations on the set menu.

LOVE this place. Have been for breakfast and dinner. Both where phenomenal. The best value is definitely the breakfast platter (which they will top up if you've got the stomach to manage to field seconds!). But that's not to say that dinner was also incredible. Small bar atmosphere, attentive staff and awesome decor.

Almond Bar is such an exceptional restaurant! From the booking to the delicious food, it was a stress free experience. Tony went well above all expectations in arranging a Birthday cake for my partner, thank you so much Tony. The menu was great, the food excellent and the service brilliant, Highly recommend, 5 stars.

Vegetarian and vegan Visiting from NZ. What a lovely find. Exceptional tasting food, one can tell its prepared with care. Staff are friendly and helpful. Small restaurant but quaint with heaps of personality. Had a really great experience, thank you.

After 20 minutes wandering past multiple restaurants on a hungry tummy, the cosy warmth of Almind Bar lured us in. The chefs feast was an obvious choice. Each dish just surpassed the previous.. Explosions of flavour and textures, generous portions. An unforgettable tasty meal. Tony and Carol were delightful personable hosts ensuring we were comfortable and happy.
Great vibe. Recommend. Can't wait to return....

We loved the selection of five courses for $59 pp. The haloumi and calamari dish was to die for, the labni with beetroot, the little lamb joints ... it was all delicious. The family who run this wonderful restaurant are delightful!

Seriously good food. Try one of the banquets, so you can sample a range of the dishes, or get a bunch of mains to share, but whatever you do, have some of the dips. They are creative, flavourful combinations, particularly the za'atar and hummus. Almond Bar is a little pricey, but that's to be expected of a Darlinghurst restaurant. It's warm, inviting and intimate, the perfect place for a special date, but also great for an outing with friends or family. They serve almonds at the start which frankly, given their name, it would be disappointing if they didn't.

Can I give 6 stars? For quite a few years I've said this is my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Great place for friends, family, dates, etc. Food is always delicious, friendly staff, and lovely, cozy decor. Definitely a must-try in the area.

I love the Almond Bar! It is a small, intimate restaurant and the food and staff are another level altogether. I have been there three times and had take away on their last day. I am keeping an eye out on their insta account and really hoping they will be back soon.
