McKechnie Simon Dr

Dr. McKechnie is the best neurosurgeon that anyone could have. I had 4 surgeries on my neck and 3 on my lower back with him. He is amazing. Last year I had an emergency, he didn’t hesitate to call me when my husband went to talk to him. I couldn’t walk in pain, he put me in hospital straight away. I had a surgery couple of days later. I have to say his Anesthetist Dr.Hendry Liu is excellent too. I never had any problems before, during or after my 7 surgeries. They are very professionals and they have good hearts. I never felt I was just a number. When I call to make an appointment I talk to Pat. She is a very patient and caring person. If I have a problem she always talk to Dr McKechnie and get back to me. At his room in Bankstown, his receptionist Lucy is nice to me and my husband.
I highly recommend Dr McKechnie to anyone including my family and friends.

Simone mckechnie, gave my husband the best treatment you could ask for. Both surgeries went well and his after-care was excellent. You can't ask for more

Checking the above patients on comments - we have not seen two of the patients - Bui or Cratt. Other patient had nothing wrong with him and wanted to claim on ctp insurance

Dr Mckechnie went above and beyond. He explained all facets of the operation and I know feel confident again.
He follows up regularly and takes great interest in my progress, highly recommended.

The best neurosurgeon , Doctor , Specialist . His practice and Knowledge is very understanding of the problems I have had , I highly recommend Dr Simon Mckechnie , and his staff are always helpful , They have alot to deal with

Dr Simon an absolute legend , I have done surgery with James van gilder and had the worst experience started to seek second and third opinion that’s when I started noticing the difference between a Dr who’s willing to work on he’s patient and a Dr who gets paid to put you down and make you feel it is the end for you , regardless all Drs gets paid they worked hard for it there is no say about that.
From experience seek more than one opinion.

Dont knwo why dr. put such a rude/tamper receptionist who is not nice in conversation. This is inappropriate job for her.

Left me with permanent damage to my left sciatic nerve as he apparently did not stich the drain properly which slipped deep and pressed on the nerve....he did not care about this much after follow up visit...the leg is num from the top to the foot with on going pain.... should if be a court case or reported to medical board but he is a colleague!!!!! Very unhappy and would not recommend him to any one 😡

The receptionist is absolutely dog water.
Anything higher than a 1 star are definitely fake reviews.
If you can avoid, do so like the plague.
You're treated like you're just a number - $$$.
Remember not to ask the receptionist to do anything for you, that's out of her way, you'll get a stare down like you've just asked for the world and you're not worth a second more of her time.

I went to see dr McKechnie with high expectations despite seeing his bad online reviews. Previous reviews are 100% on point. Rude receptionist and arrogant Dr. Didn’t bother reading my MRI report. Rushed me in and out in 10mins and asked for $350. Would not recommend

Like others who left a review, the receptionist at the Bankstown Office is beyond rude, if you ask anything she gives you the impression you're wasting her time, not having any humility for the patients who are obviously in pain or are sick, she definitely hates her 'job'.
In addition she never calls back, never checks anything, just palms you off to call back another day so probably someone else answers and have to do the work.

Doctor seems okay but the receptionist is the worst kind of person you would expect to see at a medical centre or anywhere where customer service is expected.
This woman is rude (both in person and over the phone just like others' reviews), extremely unhelpful if you need to ask any questions, and doesn't want to guide you to the right direction.
However, she's keen to yell at you tho. Might have to see an ear specialist after talking to her.
Pretty sure this woman has issue and she needs to see a doctor herself.

Mum seen the Dr. who did literally didnt even talk about her pains just recommended the same medications she complained about. less than 10 min consult didnt really answer much. Receptionist very dry too. good team.

Would avoid if you can, receptionist is really disrespectful and rude, clearly doesn't want to be there/do this job.
No issues with the Dr himself, same as every other specialist, 5-10 min consult, no appointment is on time, the usual.

Did not explain things in plain English, felt like I was not being listened to as he told me to try treatments that I was already using. I ask him for advice on medications which he was dismissive.

The practice manager who answers calls should be dismissed. I ask to speak to the Doctor as I wanted to give feedback on the way he had responded to me. Her response was to call me stupid, to grow up, there must be something wrong with me and I must have mmental health.
