Discovered this restaurant on 'The Fork' app with a tempting 40% off deal a week ago. We indulged in a variety of vegetarian and vegan entrees, pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness. The flavors were on point, though the final bill, even with the discount, leaned towards the pricey side. Still, the diverse and flavourful vegetarian options made it worthwhile, and was much appreciated! Considering a return for another enjoyable meal. Thank you!

AMAZING! Amazing food, amazing service, quality value!
Fine dining Japanese at a manageable price point. I sincerely have no idea how they do it?
Best Japanese I’ve tasted outside of Tokyo by a long shot. My birthday celebration for our group of six started brilliantly with a well-priced for the top shelf, 300ml bottle of Yuzu flavoured Sake to toast with alfresco in the warm Darlinghurst evening. Deeelicious.
Up first, absolutely ‘melt in your mouth’ sashimi - incredible tuna, salmon and kingfish on the Golden Sashimi board.
My one photo does not nearly do it justice, we’d eaten most of it by the time I grabbed my camera.
Everything else was taken by my 20 something kids and their partners before I could blink!
Our darling, ‘nothing is too much trouble’, waitress apologised there was no snapper that night, would we be ok with scallop sashimi instead.
Would we ever!!!! Unbelievable freshness and texture.
Wagyu tataki in a to-die-for marinade, then golden crunchy outside, tender and sweet inside salt & pepper squid with a delicious sauce. Equally delightful chicken katsu the kids fought over and creamy crab croquettes in a crust so light you’d swear it was made of actual angels!
Duck & Foie Gras fried rice (yeah I know) but my god! For my big birthday it was the most extraordinary indulgence. Generous chunks of foie gras with duck slices, shallots and a beautifully seasoned rice: could have died then and gone to heaven.
But we still had the duck, avocado, leaves and edame salad with sesame dressing, the unctuous miso eggplant, and the giant lion sushi roll to go. Followed by a finale of Shogoyaki: pork belly, garlic, ginger, green vegetables and lightly steamed eggs gliding gently in a sensational broth coming from the blending of these simple but perfectly balanced ingredients.
This chef is a genius, take your time with the menu or do what I did annd make an list from what you see online to take with you, there are dozens of choices but everything is quite obviously made from the very freshest ingredients at the moment you order.
The combination of kind, efficient, cheery, knowledgeable and flexible service and exceptional quality is worth every single penny.
Do NOT miss this one: Hiroya is a Sydney bucket list special.
It may be surrounded by weird dinosaur steaks in a tourist lump on one side and some sort of Thai on the other but do not be swayed.
You are heading straight to the sign saying Hiroya! The hero and no doubt the envy of its neighbours.

Service was very good. Staff is friendly and efficient.
Food was ok. Squid is a bit over cooked but overall was pretty good.
Love the salad in there. Very fresh, crunchy and juicy

Hiroya Japanese Restaurant was a real surprise gem of a find!

Being enticed to dine here via Eat Club was probably one of the best decisions we ever made!

The restaurant offers fresh and delicious Japanese food on a HUGE menu!

There is so much variety and something is bound to catch your eye!

The seafood ingredients were fresh and tasty and all dishes were presented in a beautiful way.

Our waitstaff were also very helpful and accommodating towards any requests we had and were very generous towards us.

Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Dined here last night. The largest menu I have ever seen for a Japanese restaurant. It took us a while to order. The servings were generous and everything was delicious. Only downside was there was no ice cream available for dessert. Staff were really friendly and the food came out pretty fast. We got the discount through the Fork so it was unbelievable value.

The food and atmosphere at Hiromi brings me right back to Japan - everything is absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly! I can't pick a favourite dish because I just loved it all so much. Whether you are a local to Darlinghurst or not, it's worth travelling to try the food here. I can't wait to go back again!

Had a chance to try quite a few dishes from here! The presentation of everything was beautiful and creative and the freshness of their sashimi and sushi was amazing!

I even loved the terriyaki chicken deliciously glazed and the tempura was just perfect!

There was a unique ramen which tasted a bit like malatang and a spicy prawn as well..taste/flavour was great but a little too spicy for me but that is my problem😂😂
Thanks for the delicious meal♥♥♥

Food was great, really liked their Signature Ramen and their Teriyaki Salmon Bento (lunch deal) was worth it also. Originally found out about this place on EatClub but their prices are already reasonable even before discount. My favourite Japanese place so far and look forward to trying their other dishes next time.

The staff are always friendly which is lovely, especially our waitress tonight who has served us on other nights. We keep coming back here for celebrations. Recommended!
