One of the best omakase at very reasonable price, 20 courses for AUD200. My top address now for omakase so far outside of Japan. Not for small eaters, you will be full for sure at the end of the meal! Finish it with their amazing plum wine! Thank you Chef Han!

Been around a while but still a hidden gem and one of the best modern Japanese restaurants in the area. I love everything about this place including sitting in the garden on a beautiful autumn day.
Try the tempura prawns, I don’t know how they get them so light and fresh.
There is also an amazing duck dish with the silkiest pumpkin I’ve ever tasted. Don’t delay and treat yourself if you haven’t been here before.

I've walked past Zushi plenty of times but it never really crossed my mind that maybe it was worth dining at. That is until I was invited to go for lunch. And oh man... I had one of those moments where you have no other choice but to accept that your preconceived ideas about a place were absolutely wrong, and that maybe your compass and ability to judge things could do with refinement and tweaking. Yes, perhaps I had a bias over the fact that it was yet another Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills. But credit to Zushi for proving me otherwise.

It was exquisite Japanese cooking of classic dishes and flavours, with an elevated touch of elegance and fresh, quality ingredients.

Great service and outdoor seating felt a lot more casual than indoors which I prefer. Would recommend if you want to treat yourself to a very delicious meal without breaking the bank.

What a vibe! Nowhere are you going to find a sushi joint that his this vibe, service and taste!

It’s a plus that they’ve got different sushi’s to what you find everywhere else.

I absolutely loved this place & will be back for sure.

Food was great and excellent combination of flavours. Staff were kind and accommodating.

Took a bit too long to serve up some of the food though. Slightly pricey as well but food and atmosphere felt clean.

Excellent fresh ingredients made into wonderful sushi rolls! But if you ask me the Honey Prawns are the highlight dish as well as the Matcha Tiramisu.

Yum! Yum! Yum!
Love this place! Enjoyed everything about it, food, drinks, atmosphere & service.. My daughter treated me for Mother’s Day and it was the Best Experience she could have given me.
The food was so fresh and delicious it was like fairies dancing on my tongue, I enjoyed it so much!
I’ll definitely be back with hubby next time.

- Best Japanese food I have tried in Sydney.
- We had Sashimi, Sushi rolls, pork gyoza, cauliflower karage. All absolutely delicious.
- I wish we got the edamame because I saw people having it on the way out and looks great!
- Service was superb. When I made the booking I requested for seat with a view and they put us next to the balcony which was amazing.
- Seating well spaced out, outdoor seating also available. Very nice atmosphere.
- 10/10 recommend, we want to try the Barangaroo one now!

Usually I’ll be at their Barangaroo store but once I heard they were doing omakase at the Surry Hills location i instantly booked. It’s around $190 per person but totally worth the experience and quality of the food in my opinion.

I’ve been to a few omakase and really enjoyed this one in terms of variety. We were sooo stuffed by the end of it. You definitely need to make a booking if you want the omakase experience. From memory it’s only 6:30PM bookings available and on limited days of each week so get in quick.

Chef Han did an amazing job and we really enjoyed dining here.

Amazing service from the friendly hospitable staff, and equally delicious Japanese food! A great place for casual upscaled dining with decent pricing for the generous portions. Well-presented food and a great ambiance to match.

I would highly recommend the karaage chicken as a starter, and the teriyaki duck as a main. Would love to come back or go to their Barangaroo venue to try more.

Went to try the new Omakase dinner in Zushi with Chef Han, a young and talented sushi chef that will blow your mind and palate. We had an amazing dinner with oysters 🦪 wagyu, sashimi and many more dishes. Chef Han explained all of them and was really nice with us! Special mention to the Wagyu that was simply amazing plus all the sashimi that were one better than the other one! Will definitely come back.

Went on Saturday with my husband and we had a really lovely dining experience even with our 4yr old child in tow. The ambiance was nice with soft moody lighting. We had the $55 set menu which was excellent value and very tasty and ordered the sashimi taco which wasn't necessary as portions was plenty but I couldn't resist. The venue was surprisingly family friendly as they offered a kids menu that was great value and my son was so happy to get an ice-cream for dessert! Service was fast but friendly and their chilli margarita to die for! Highly recommended for couples or small groups (and well behaved children it seems!) Run, don't walk... you're welcome 😊

Wonderful and delicious.

The restaurant was beautiful, cozy but not squishy.

The servers did not hover, but appeared at the right time and you had their full attention.

The food…… oh my goodness the food was amazingly delicious. The sashimi was fresh and refreshing ( we are ex Sydney who tree changed to central west NSW). The honey prawns were next level delicious and the duck, salmon and wagyu awesome but the sashimi salmon, tuna and red snapper? We’re on a whole new level of delicious that almost made us want to move back to Sydney…. Almost!

Overall a wonderful night, we left full belly’s and happy thoughts!

A great Japanese restaurant on Crown Street. Wonderful outdoor seating but also a fun atmosphere indoors.

Service was seamless and friendly, and the lychee/coconut martini and chill shots are well recommended, but we were spoilt for choice with the drinks menu which had plum wine and sakes.

We opted for the tasting menu with Wagyu, which was a beautiful selection of fresh sashimi, chicken karaage, honey prawns, salmon and the Wagyu steak. It's a lot of food, and a wonderful, relaxed experience. Well recommended.

Have been a regular here for the past few years and returned again last night with a large group. Food and service was outstanding, as usual.
The signature rolls are especially good, as is the teriyaki duck and karaage chicken.
Our waiter was super helpful in offering some wonderful recommendations for us. We will be back!

I am one of your happy customers. I have been here a few times before.
This time, I was looking for a Japanese place open for dinner from 5 pm near the movie Palace Verona. And luckily I found out Zushi Surry Hills was open from 5 pm. So I booked a table for a group of 5. Our movie start time was 6:30 so we didn't have much time for dining but the Zushi team did such an efficient service. We enjoyed all the delicious foods and a bottle from their good selection of wines in 1 hour! Thank you so much. I am coming back again for sure :)
