Tucked in Central CBD in Surry Hills, this store offers some of the best dry pasta, ample cheese options, and lots of other Italian delicacies. They stock one of the best pastas, Mancini. I will definitely visit again in the future.

An awesome selection of cheeses. I am never disappointed, always walking away with a mixture of my favourites and something new to try.

The staff are generous with their time, offering plenty of expertise on which cheeses might be most suitable depending on the occasion.

I normally visit in a weekday lunchtime, and it isn't excessively busy.

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening (or more appropriately the "experience"). On this occasion, I found that ALL cheses and wines were to my liking. Normally I shun blue cheeses, but I courageously began to nibble the "Granny's Blue" and, in a relatively short time, it was gone. The Brie aux Truffes was also amazing, and one of the best of this type I have had.
My table companions were very social and topped off the "experience".
I look forward to May, if I can make it as I will be away from the 13th of that month.

Went to our first in person wine and cheese pairing, after doing one virtually.
So incredibly good. Sure, you are eating cheese and only cheese for dinner. But the knowledge and the variety imparted and the pairings are so good. Highly recommended.

Incredible discovery!! The cheese and wine tasting here is divine. You get the chance to taste some of the best cheeses from around the world paired with some beautiful wines. They also have a lot of history as one of the ladies that works there has a family history dating back to Henry VIII that is one of the only dairy farmers to still be making cheddar naturally by hand. It makes a real difference!! Go and learn more. What a gem!

This is the specialty cheese shop to go to in Sydney. They have an extensive range of delicious, quality cheeses in a boutique environment. All staff are friendly and helpful, and some are especially outstanding with their knowledge of products. It's well worth subscribing to their mailing list as they regularly have sales, some of which are only available to members. This is a special place

Ocello has an unbelievable selection of international cheeses, especially even more for Italian ones ! An absolutely paradise for anybody who loves proper cheese ! 👏

Also they serve some amazing cured meats and a vast selection of quality food such as oils, truffled creams, imported Panettone, truffled salts, handmade Italian butter directly imported etc.

I personally love this place so much that cannot resist going there for lunch once or twice a week as their home made paninis are to die for and you can get a prosciutto di parma, provolone, olives panino for $12 !

Excellent value. Large serves of 7-8 cheeses from soft to hard, some European, some Australian, some English with accompanying wines - prosecco, white, rose and sweet. My only suggestion is that the speakers use a microphone - I missed out on most of the commentary.

Love, love, love the cheese and wine night. First time was at The Rocks and it was a nice small group. Second time was Covid times and did one online which was fun to have in those times. And now they have opened up a shop in Surry Hills and it's still amazing. Even after all these years and through Covid 🙌🏻🙌🏻 would 100% recommend!

The best cheese shop in Australia! These guys import a niche selection of amazing cheeses from around the world and were stocking black truffle pecorino and manchego before it went mass market with the supermarkets!
It’s true you can get most of your cheeses in the general stores these days though if you are after a treat and smth special head to these guys and be impressed?

We got our cheese wheel cake from Formaggi Ocello for our wedding. Once we had our cheese tasting we were very impressed by the high quality and deliciousness of all the cheeses from different international regions, much superior to what I'd usually get from the local supermarket. Sogna was a pleasure to deal and we were impressed by her knowledge and expertise on all things cheese. Most importantly our cheese wheel cake looked and tasted amazing! Highly recommend!

Formaggi Ocello supplied a beautiful 6 layer wedding cake made out of cheese.

The experience of tasting the cheeses and designing our cake was so fun and the cake itself looked and tasted amazing.

Sogna was pleasant to work with and we were very happy with the result!

When I’m missing French cheeses too much I just go there. They have EVERY cheese. It’s of course much more expensive but for cheese I’m ready to pay a lot. My favorite ones are all the goat cheese ones. They also have nice jam, pasta...

If you like cheese, this is the best place. A lot of varieties for you. Yummy.

The ladies were very kind to help me pick out my cheese. As a cheese beginner they were able to find something to suite my taste pallet and was very satisfied with the cheese quality. I was lucky enough to taste test some as well!
