Food was amazing! There is so much to choose from but I thoroughly enjoyed everything that we got. My fave is the purple sticky rice and the Taiwanese sausage. I can't get over how sweet the sausage is without being too oily. Loved it!

It does get quite busy though so make sure to time your visit well.

I also really enjoyed their mid-autumn moon festival set menu, perfect for sharing with family. The salt and pepper oysters were so good, while pork rib in herbal soup and sticky rice are the definition of homey comfort food.

Hungry Paulie has a huge menu with lots of Taiwanese staples! Prices are really affordable and food high quality.

This place has the best type of comfort food that warms you up on a cold day. I really love everything on their menu, in particular their breakfast sets and their noodle soups. The mooncake festival set was also really delicious and I loved the herbal soup. The restaurant vibe gives a homely feel and it’s perfect to eat there with family and friends.

Loved this comforting Taiwanese feast!! My first time trying warm soybean peanut milk and it was such a nice drink to pair with the food! I really enjoyed the braised beef noodles here and also got to try their Moon Festival set menu - the herbal soup was so warming to eat esp with the youtiao dipped in!!

Delicious food, fast delivery, an extensive menu with a varieties of dishes to choose from - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Also, It features set menu for special occasions such as moon festival as well. I highly recommend to try out their sticky rice, braised beef noodle soup and braised ginger duck soup. It’s so hearty😍

One of the most authentic Taiwanese style food that I have ever tried in Sydney. It is reasonably priced and well-flavoured. The decoration bought back some memories when I was traveling in Taiwan. Staff are polite and friendly. Recommend kerbside parking on the street opposite to the road rather than parking at the carpark if you go there at peak hours.

Eastwood gets pretty busy after 5PM, so for somewhere slightly quieter, we decided to try Hungry Paulie, which is situated on the corner of Trelawney and the main road, on the outer ring of the Eastwood main area. Understanding it is a chain store, with a couple of outlets elsewhere, we don’t have a high expectation - expect Mcdonald’s style Taiwanese food. We were pleasantly surprised though, when we were greeted by a very friendly waitstaff. We got seated in a nice large table and I think she told us to order at the counter (we just kind of worked it out from others ordering as she spoke to us in mandarin…). We ordered the beef noodle, pork belly rice bento, the tofu with the century egg, a hot soy milk drink and a beer. The food came out very quickly and are generous in portion size.

The tofu didn’t have the usual ginger though - maybe it’s just their style (ignorant me!), the beef noodle has a very delicious broth (wished where were more broth!), but our absolute favourite is the pork belly. It was done so well with the melt in your mouth pork fat which went so well with the perfectly cooked rice. Yum. That was our highlight. The food are all very savoury, so i would recommend to eat something sweet to wash off the taste afterward.

Drink wise, the soy milk is in a generous bowl and you can opt for with sugar or none. We had to follow up on the beer though - somehow they have forgotten about it. It is good how they mark items off the receipt as they get served.

Overall, I am happy with this place and will be delighted to return in the future. Yes, I also enjoyed this “quieter” part of Eastwood.

Loved this restaurant! The staff were so friendly and the food came out hot and fresh. They were also helpful in giving us some recommendations that we loved. The savoury pancake and dumplings are a must try

Super friendly staff! Love how generous the proportions of the food were and also how flavourful everything was. Highlights of the meal would have the be the prawn and pineapple salad, the sticky rice, the pepper beef pastry and the sizzling plate dish that came out fresh and hot! Super delicious, a staple food spot I would recommend! Many other locations as well with authentic Taiwanese cuisine and a menu to spoil you with choice :)

I’ve eaten inside before but tried their precooked meals this time and they were bomb !!! The black pepper beef and the garlic pork was to die for!! I really hope they can do precooked meals again or even permanently !!

Visited a Taiwanese restaurant in Eastwood during a busy lunch rush. Initial concerns due to negative reviews, chaotic waiting line. However, the food was delicious, and the staff sorted out the wait quickly. Authentic atmosphere, great meal. Both my partner and I loved it!

One of my favourite local restaurants in Sydney, keep coming back! Must try the pork belly and beef noodles.

If a meal could be a hug this would be it - Everything is just so hearty and comforting! I highly recommend the glutinous rice rolls, they’re loaded with stuffing and have a great mix of textures

The original Taiwan beef noodle ! The beef noodle was amazing just like what I had tasted in Taipei - fresh noodles in rich soup. The setting was also quite authentic and the speedy waitress service was very impressive. This will be my regular spot from now on !

Really recommend this place for authentic Taiwanese food! Their menu is massive and they have so much variety for whatever you’re craving. The service is friendly and super fast. Definitely try the congee and wontons in chilli oil if you go. :)

Loved everything I ordered! The black pepper pastry was amazing. Food all freshly made and super affordable. Extremely high quality and generous portion for the price :) Will definitely be back!

We always have delicious food and a good time here. We enjoy the Taiwanese breakfast dishes and the noodle soup like we had in Taiwan. Portions are very generous, we tend to over order!

Good food for the pretty cheap price! One of my favourite places to get taiwanese food! Happy that the food came out really quickly. Restaurant was nicely furnished as well.
