Nice setting and worth the wait despite the queue. They serve a couple of interesting dishes hardly seen at home. The herbal chicken seemed to stuffed with rice or something which hardly require the standard bowl of rice. The pork bone soup is nicely done and not overly spicy. Great condiments especially the appetizing pickled onion.

👅 Sundae w/others $27
not the sweet kind 🧛🏻‍♀ the texture of the sausage was chewy and soft combined with the super umami flavour of the intestines, it was a WEINERR!! (winner) 🌭they were also cut into really generous bicc boii pieces. This dish also came with a mountain of offal. And OFFAL-course, it was immaculate. 😍 Offal has the best texture with that rich and gaimey taste. The dish was generously loaded as well 💦

👅 Chicken Ginseng Soup $26
🌟of the night!! nothing beats a hot bowl of soup on a cold night. the soup had a yummy umami taste, and the chicken made it even better 😛 the chicken was so soft and tender that you could eat the bones!!! DAYUMM. 😨 It also came with rice that was stuffed into the chicken like whaattt?? Mindblown. This got swept up quickly for good reason 🔥

👅 Bossam $58
this bossam plate was LOADED with sides. Cabbage, lettuce, SPICYYY garlic, chilies, and a pile of radish salad with octopus!! 🤯 the pork itself had a good texture and it was pretty joocy however, I felt as though the flavour of the pork didn’t emerge from its shadows. 🧐 however, paired with the sides of the dish, the flavours came together to be spicy, sweet, and sour! 🐷 YUM YUM in my tum tum 👏

definitely returning to eat more SOUPER delish SOUPPPP!!

So yam!

I really enjoyed it.
Today, I had bean sprout haejangguk, sundae soup, bone haejangguk, and sundae platter, and everything was delicious.
A great restaurant to go back to! recommend to everyone!!

Ordered the pork bone soup (picture) for $20. My friend ordered pork soup for $19. Soups come with rice. PORK BONE SOUP IS AMAZING! I absolutely love it, meat was very tender.. surprisingly very easy to eat despite it being pork bone. The soup broth was very rich, not too salty. Just PERFECT!!!!!! Side dishes and the staffs were also amazing. Would definitely recommend and come back!!!!!! Will be one of the regulars here!

Had lunch at Haejanggook, a charming, old-school eatery popular with locals.
Diners were mostly Koreans simply enjoying their food, ambience was very quiet.

Banchan was kimchi-focused, adding authenticity.
The highlight was the pork bone soup: visuals was deceivingly volcanic.
However, it was delightfully fresh and well-balanced, not too salty or spicy. An unexpectedly pleasant surprise!

Service was good. A bit noisy on weekend lunch time. Definitely a good spot to have Haekanggook. Portion is generous too.

This place deserves a higher rating. One of the best traditional Korean restaurants in Sydney. I also found the service to be consistent. Try the pork bone soup.

Pork bone soup was literally falling off the bone and good flavour. Seafood pancake was crispy. No complaints and a decent alternative to Hansang if you can't wait to eat

They have the world’s tiniest menu but it will not disappoint. The seafood tofu soup, both the spicy and non spicy version, are hands down the best I’ve ever had in Sydney in 20 years. P.s There is something special about their kimchi.

My family and my staff have been coming here for the past 2 years. The food and service feels like we are back home in Korea.
The portion size is filling and the price is great. You won't find another place that soothes your soul with a great bowl of rice and soup
