Sherwood Homestead

Beautiful "secret" place with a fairly easy hike in (if you park in the right place and roads are open). Well worth the walk.

Nice walk, great to have a table at the site for lunch. Views from nearby Mt Dowling are spectacular, especially in Spring.

Access from Mountain Creek Rd is better than from Blue Range Hut. It is shorter and sign posted.

I great place to walk to and picnic at. Unexpected.

This is a wonderful place to walk the dog. Plenty of flora and fauna for my little dog to sniff and smell. The walk to the homestead itself is another adventure worth the time.

Beautiful to see the daffodils in bloom, and a good distance walk (4 km each way) from the start of the walk at Blue Range campsite. A good opportunity to reflect on the life of the early settlers in the area. I couldn't imagine driving a horse and cart from the homestead to Queanbeyan to do the shopping!

Enjoyed our walk to Sherwood Homestead. Had the whole place to ourselves. Such a surprise to come across all the beautiful flowers and read about the history.

Very nice feel. Pretty little valley with lots of wildlife. Go in each season to experience the changes. Nice walk from Blue Range Camp. Better than the Cotter.

A pleasant walk from the parking place to the homestead site. The daffodils were impressive. There were more people than would be usual because the place was publicised yesterday in the local newspaper, but not crowded.

This is a lovely walk with the added joy of beautiful bulbs in springtime. There are a number of ways to get there but the homestead area is very pretty, not that there are any buildings there. Take a picnic with you and enjoy the serenity sitting at one of the benches. You can even walk up to view the old graves up on the hill. Worth the trip.

Lots of spring blooms. Still some flowers too come out but not sure how long it has left.

Daffodils galore.
