Unassuming Japanese restaurant where the food does the talking. The sushi is always fresh and the meal is served with a miso soup, and some surprise condiments. Had the bento box here several times and every single element was freshly made.

The service is always friendly and the boss cracks a smile if he is not swamped with orders. Definitely one for those who appreciate good from a chef who prides himself on delivering the same!

A no frills yakiniku restaurant in the hear of Artarmon. The feeling you get as you walk in is that the restaurant focuses on the quality of the ingredients rather than a fancy shop fitout. Meats offered are typically what you would find at a yakiniku with various cuts of Wagyu beef, some pork and chicken and seafood. The key is that the meat doesn't come out frozen like other yakiniku places meaning that the ingredients are freshly prepared. My go to is definitely the beef tongue as it is cut thick and is the only way they should be served to appreciate the full texture of the tongue. The portioning here is sufficient and I'd say if you spend $40-$50 pp, you won't go home hungry!

For locals, this place has is an institution (iykyk).

Always have a great meal here - it is 100% food for the soul, lovingly prepared. The interior, service and food feels very genuine.

I have been having the Wakana salad for close to 20 years.

A very good Japanese restaurant. Dinning experience isn't fancy but down to earth. Waiter are very friendly, foods are well prepared, and serving size are bigger than expected. I would recommend pork fry wagyu curry if you just need something to fill your self up.

Honestly our favorite place to eat. Amazing Yakiniku meats, tempura is spot on and sashimi is always fresh. Wakana salad is delicious too! Good value for money and unpretentious - perfect place to enjoy a casual Japanese meal. The owner & staff have always been amazing - could not be more thankful to have such delicious food and lovely people providing Yakiniku in artarmon.

First time back since COVID kicked off globally, still enjoying the great Wagyu beef BBQ. Very reasonable priced.

This is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants. I got the tempura bento box for $22 for lunch, which was great value for the price. Amazing food and definitely recommend!

My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years! The owner is always friendly as are his staff and the food is always fresh and excellent. Everything is reasonably priced, especially lunch and it is BYO as well. Highly recommended!

Great place we come to each time we're in the area. The curry is very good. Sushi is generous. Cash only though. Very busy so don't expect much.

Very nice Japanese BBQ restaurant.
Wagyu beef and the Unagi (eel) rice is the highlight on this restaurant.
The steam rice is authentic Japanese short grain as well.

They serve the most Beautiful well marbled cuts, the thickness is just right. My go to restaurant whenever I need my fix of yakiniku. I would highly recommend the premium wagyu or the negi-miso version.

Lunch in this Japanese restaurant for over twenty years. It is almost a custom that my wife and I have lunch here once a week. We don't order BBQ, but other Japanese food, namely teriyaki salmon, chicken, or beef...etc. Sometimes, we have noodles or a box of eels. Even a big bow of curry beef rices. These are authentic, delicious Japanese food cooked and prepared by the Japanese owner. Prices are quite reasonable. O! I almost forgot that miso soup is absolutely a must. It is so good.

I regularly get the bento box lunch takeaway. Staff are friendly but not chatty which I like.

A hidden gem of a restaurant. I originally came here for the Wagyu bbq which is great already, but the best part are their takeaway meals. I go there every week for my lunch fix.

The chiraishi is super fresh and excellent value for money, the grilled eel on rice is great and the surprise find is the Wagyu curry with rice. They probably use their BBQ offcuts and it's melt in the mouth amazing and super decadent, and all for only $15.

No frills but all the flavour!

Our go to Japanese of choice for close to 20 years. Eat here weekly. Every dish is a winner. Value 2nd to none.

the best yakiniku I have ever had in Sydney! Fall in love with everything we ordered for barbecue, fried rice and even sashimi. A great worth for the money! Just remember to bring enough cash haha!
