The Boatshed Wallaroo

I’m coeliac so finding GF fish and chips was wonderful. First visit I had a fisherman’s basket with GF batter. They also do a gluten free crumb. My husband had the Garfish but it just wasn’t enough for him and he left wanting. The second time because I said it was the best fish and chips we need to go back, he had battered butterfish and chips… he’s rated it best on our 2 week holiday around SA. Delicious thin batter. Delicious meal. GF takes longer to come out but it is worth the wait.

Had an amazing lunch today. We had the King George Whiting and the Lemon Pepper Fish special. The food was quick to come out, was so fresh and tasted amazing. We had our dog with us and they were so accommodating. Bringing water and snacks to her. The service was so great. It's been a long time since we've had service like that. We would highly recommend The Boatshed to anyone wanting a great feed.

I would highly recommend the Boatshed Wallaroo. Absolutely delicious food, great service and a separate kitchen space for all gluten free dishes, which is greatly appreciated as someone with coeliac disease. A must visit place in Wallaroo.

What can I say? The service was amazing! The food also amazing! The fish and the batter was delicious. The chips and the special salt they put on them was one of the best salts I’ve ever tasted. The salads were extremely fresh and crisp. We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem 💎. Thanks for playing INXS whilst we were eating, also AMAZING

Amazing......food was fantastic. We ordered a Family Fisherman's Basket. Great value and was delicious. To feed a family of 4 and still have food left over, definitely value for money without skimping on the quality. Thank you so much Zack for your fantastic customer service, friendliness and taking a group photo for my family.

Stopped for lunch, great service from friendly and welcoming staff. Had fish and chips. The fish was to die for, superb! (As was the tartar sauce, the real McCoy not the silly little plastic pouches with inferior sauce)! Great location next to the jetty. Would thoroughly recommend The Boatshed.

Shout out to Zack and the team for an amazing feed and super friendly service! Such a rare treat to find battered gluten free fish, calamari, prawns (and more) right on the foreshore - safely cooked for Coeliacs (with heaps of other menu options I didn’t try)!! So good we had dine in/take out 2 nights in a row. Will definitely be visiting anytime I am in Wallaroo!

What a fabulous find at the most incredible, friendly and the best delicious fish & chips ever tasted. Zack was the nicest guy ever, very professional and kind. A real credit to this wonderful business !! Cynthia is the best chef ever and we are so lucky to find this Gem in Wallaroo ! Keep up the great work and service !

Best fish & chips I've had in a long time!!!
Calamari was perfect, not stringy or chewy. Fish and chips not oily.

Super friendly, accommodating of.our large group and rowdy kids. Tended to our dogs straight away. The GF options were amazing. I had GF battered whiting and salt n pepper squid and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids meals were also great and all very reasonably priced. We will be back!

Great service from Zack, very friendly, great sense of humour and very accommodating. Menu is amazing as a gluten free person with huge amount of options and a beautiful location. My parents are frequent visitors and love their interactions with Zack and the great food. Would totally recommend.

We had lunch at the Boat Shed last Sunday and it was 5 star. Zac who served us was so lovely and chatty. An all round happy face to be welcomed by. Good work Zac. And the meal was delicious. ❤ The best Gluten Free restaurant by far with most items on the menu can be made Gluten free if requested. A complete game changer for us. Do yourself a favour and head on down to the Boat Shed. It’s a must. You can even enjoy a lovely wine or alcoholic drink of your choice or Coffee.

The gluten free options here are amazing. I had some gluten free battered fish and chips. The fish was to die for! Crunchy and better than ‘normal’ fish. Husband had the hamburger with the lot. Best burger he’s had! Such an amazing little place with the friendliest of service. Highly recommended for people with celiac disease. Very understanding. Well done and thanks for catering for us celiacs ☺

And lo, I discovered this delicious solution to that hour of "what to do, where to go, what to eat" while I waited for the Wallaroo Silo Light Show to start. This is the best seafood restaurant 😋 it's fresher than an ocean breeze! And you can sit and watch the sun setting over the gulf while you eat and sip wine, don't miss this... It's a great hidden little tasty treasure trove. Thanks to the friendly staff, you make this a welcoming place to rest.

Zac made our first night in Wallaroo very special. So friendly recommended wines and was just the highlight of our day. We both had King George whiting & shared spring rolls absolutely delicious

OMG…this place is a MUST for any visitors to the Copper Coast. My husband had the crumbed Fisherman’s basket, served with salad, pasta salad and chips. The fish, calamari and prawns were fresh and the salad was alive, unlike other places where it is days old.
I’m coeliac and they have a separate kitchen and a full GF menu. I had the battered King George Whiting and I don’t even like fish! It was fresh, crispy and absolutely amazing. It was served with chips and chicken salt, fresh salad and coleslaw. We smashed the lot! This was followed by churros (not GF) and a GF pineapple fritter. I can’t remember the last time I had one!! Thanks Zack for your top service!! Highly recommended!!

The Boatshed is my favourite takeaway place. No matter what you choose on the menu you wont be disappointed. Service is great, and the staff are friendly and fun. Great to eat in too.
