Amama Walking Track

Relatively easy, fun and entertaining walk for my family (including two kids - 5 & 7 years old). Different terrains going up and down hill, crossing the creek a few times, even encountering a big black snake enjoying its sun bath!

Walking track is across the road from the BBQ area.
Start is easy, once you get to the rocks it will become more challenging with creek crossings and place's to swim. Lacking in signs on some of the less obvious track but if you follow your instincts you'll find an arrow. Great for a quick hike if you want a challenge. Very slippery rocks when raining and there are creek crossings so keep an eye on weather as I'd imagine heavy rain would raise the water level quite quickly.

The little cascade is the best spot to cool down, with fresh water to swim in even doing dry season :)
The parking is 10/10 too with bbq toilets and a big river. It’s only a day use area though but there’s hardly any cars and we stayed there for a night and it was totally ok. A few mozzies at night but the stars made them worth it.

A beautiful walk, climb, scramble. This is certainly not for the frail, infirm or unsteady. It was bloody hard work. It might be short but it is taxing. You need hood walking shoes. Take note of what others have said. Only follow the signs. Hiking poles would help

It's the Bush and nature at her best. This is one of my common places to go when I need to reconnect and relax. A great place for a BBQ, and so peaceful. Gather some wood, fire up the barbie, lay on a rug, kick a ball around, sit by the creek and after lilunch, walk across the road into the Amana walking tracks... blissfully wonderful.

Great little track - you can either walk to the Falls and directly back, or do the entire loop for a bit of a challenge. It's so picturesque - every time I walk it I see something new and beautiful 💚

Amazing walk!! If you don't mind getting dirty and maybe wet, it's for you! Few rock crossings with the slippery rocks but possible to do and scenery is definitely worthy!!

Love it bit of trek but swimming great

Really good level 2&3 to start. The cascades are a great little swimming hole but can be slippery on the rocks so good sturdy footwear is important.
Once you move onto the level 4 hike there is almost no markings and the few pink ribbons on trees have all basically fallen off and you’re on your own.

Wonder if anyone’s done it backwards and had better success.
