The alfred has been my go to hospital for 4 years now, they treat everyone so well and are very quick. Emma who was working in the short stay ward (she was also somewhat new) made my stay so comfortable and gave me the best positive attitude that helped me feel supported and calm, she is one of the best workers there! Down to earth attitude and expert care!

The best Hospital in Australia!
(See Newsweek article best hospitals 2022)
I am grateful for the speedy diagnosis of a rare condition in the ER.
Quickly, the appropriate treatment was started on the same day.
You are in good hands here...

Let me start by saying I am a resident of both US and Australia so I am in a unique position of being able to compare hospital experiences from both countries. This past week I ended up in Alfred Hospital due to a foot bacterial infection that was spreading fast and required hospital stay. This is an amazing hospital, in fact it is so impressive, I still cannot believe that it's a public hospital. The entire experience, from arrival and a pretty short wait time, to discharge was as pleasent as one's stay in hospital can be. The staff were professional, caring and accomodating to the same level that's I've seen in expensive US hospitals. I was constantly kept in the loop with regards to my case and I never felt forgotten, ignored or pushed aside. Keep in mind that my case was a walk in the park compared to the type of medical cases that these people deal with daily, but that had no effect on how I was treated. The facilities were excellent, clean, new, I honestly did not feel like I was in a public hospital. The food was very good too, obviously it's not the Ritz Hotel, but it's not supposed to be anyway. To cut the long story short, excellent, professional, superb in every way!!! I hope I don't have to visit any hospitals any time soon but if I do, I'm going to the Alfred Hospital.

Presented to the ER with difficulty breathing due to a recent asthma diagnosis and everyone from reception, security, nurses, radiologists and doctors were incredible! So so kind and helpful. You can tell they genuinely care for their patients and even though they are under the pump and it’s the middle of the night and I’m sure they’re tired they were absolutely amazing! Probably the best experience and level of care I’ve ever received at any hospital! I didn’t get a chance to see the doctor before I left but a massive thank you to Dr. Eri Aung and all the nurses who looked after me! So grateful 🥰

As far as I know they are good.

They’ve treated me well - as in I’ve never had any reason to be scared of them. And they have also helped me.

They also aren’t as forceful with meds & offer proper alternatives which are actually helpful.

My son suffered a burn to his hand and was taken by ambulance to the Alfred. He received amazing care from the doctors and nurses in the emergency dept. His after care from the burns unit was also beyond words.
Their follow up is ongoing.
Thank you so much to all who have help in the recovery of my son.

The staff at the alfred were absolutely incredible. My mother suffered three burst brain aneurysms within a week of each other and my Dad and I had a very hard time coping through the trauma of it all (to say the least). The ICU nurses and staff would calm our nerves, call us every time something would happen, accomodate us and make us comfortable for the hours we would spend there night and day and care for my mother so lovingly. They’d braid what was left of her hair to cheer her up. Brought her a radio because that’s what she listened to every morning at home. Looked after all her needs and even decorated her room with Collingwood posters and gave her a tablet to watch when the grand final was on. They were warm, attentive, and caring. I will forever be thankful for the amazing neurosurgeons, Funda at reception (I’ll always remember the first night of you coming to get me when I was lost and crying) nurses Rachel, Lou, Loren, Olivia, Jon, Grace and Shell- all of you are amazing and I’ll never forget what you’ve done for our family ❤ after almost four months we got our Jan home and she’s recovering so well

Came in for a shoulder injury, didn't wait long in ED at all, less than 30mins. The staff were all lovely, the drs listened to my needs and I walked away with outpatient follow up scans and appointments.

Just had a small operation and everyone from nurses to anaesthetist to surgeon was the loveliest professionals I've come across. They made me feel at ease and were so kind, cannot recommend enough

My wife Dawn was just recently admitted to the Alfred for surgery. Her treatment from each member of staff showed outstanding care and attention. She can't thank them and praise them highly enough. Thanks to you all.

The staff, from booking my appointments to looking after me following surgery were wonderful. The whole process was so much easier and more pleasant than I had previously had in the private hospitals. Thank you so much

Ignore the bad reviews…. Cannot commend the entire team (nurses, physios, OTs, surgeons and doctors for saving my life and ability to walk again, and even down to orderlies, food staff, and receptionists etc) for their kindness, professionalism and compassion to me when I ended up here for 5 weeks due to a bad car accident. Everyone deserves a pay rise!! I look forward to my check up appointments as they provide me with great feedback to help me progress. Keep up the incredible work, there are many of us who appreciate you insurmountably!

Can't speak highly enough of the infectious disease team, neurologists, and nurses in the haematology ward that looked after our son who was diagnosed with Meningococcal B. The care shown for our son and our broader family was first class (the same can't be said about the food, but hey, it's a hospital not a hotel and there is always Uber eats).

The best hospital I've ever been to!!!

I just wanted to say thank you to 7 WEST and all the nurses + the whole neurology team and the pharmacist.
EVERY SINGLE PERSON was absolutely amazing, extremely professional, and gave me 200%. I felt listened to, respected, and for the first time ever - that I am in good hands and I can trust everyone.
Everyone was very thorough and did their best to help me while I was not only very unwell but also under huge pressure and extremely stressed. My experience with doctors and hospitals was genuinely horrible (many places for many years) and you just changed everything for me and proved impossible.

I will be back in the hospital quite a bit probably as we are still investigating things and I haven't recovered yet. But in the meantime, I simply wanted to say THANK YOU. I have never experienced such good care, in so many ways (and I've been in several hospitals in many countries around the world, including most in Brisbane and Sydney).

All staff from every department were incredibly helpful and considerate. Even the surgeon registrar. Prefer not to be in hospital but can't ask for better experience than I had here.

Such an amazing, accommodating, caring place. With such amazing people. I was here for 7 weeks after my motorbike accident. 2 in icu. 5 on the trauma ward. They arranged for my dog to come and see me in the courtyard. That's how much they care. ❤❤❤❤
