It is located within a food court with 2 rows of food and drink stores. It is late for lunch, there are hardly customers around. Even the main street is quiet.

We, a group of 4, are attracted to the colourful menu of dishes displayed on the wall of this store. We settle for something we are familiar with, Korean Fried Chicken (KFC), Bulgogi and Bibimbap. The meal comes with small portion of Kimchi, pickled cabbage. We order 2 more bowls of plain rice to share.

Three dishes are presented in three different ways - a hot "pot", a pan and an oval plate. As a see-food diner, I enjoy looking of the presentation before I savour the food.

Korean food is normally heavy seasoned, and so are these dishes. They do taste as good as any Korean food I had eaten.

I cannot complain about the service, because the staff is quite obliging when we ask for more bowls so that we can to share the food.

I have a beer from one of stores to go with the food.

Hwaiting is one of those places I've put in my list for so long but only got to try just recently. It sits unassumingly in the middle of The Old Shanghai in Northbridge, but you have take my word for it that everything that came out of their kitchen was amazing! Brought back so many memories of the few times I've been to Korea.❤
My husband and I tried a few things in their menu : Beef Bulgogi, Japchae, KFC and of course my fave Korean street food, Ttokbokki. Everything was spot on , exactly how I expected and wanted them to be.
We were already planning to go back even before we finished our meal!
If you haven't been to Hwaiting yet, do yourself a favour and try their selections. You surely won't be disappointed. 😊

I had the sweet and spicy chicken wings and kimchi fries. Wow wow I was pleasantly surprised! The wings were so succulent and crunchy and they gave me heaps of extra sauce!🙌 my family fought over my left overs lol. They all loved it. Will be back with my friends too. Customer service was great, very polite young woman served me and apologised for the small wait. Give it a go

The original and sweet and spicy chicken was delicious, without any oil or grease. It had a nice flavor.

Haven’t been to HWAITING for quite a while but the lady at the front remembered me and my order. She’s the best.

I always get the kimchi loaded fries which are the death of me as they are delicious. I was planing to add a photo but I demolished the fries.

If you are in shanghai lane, definitely check out HWAITING. Trust me you won’t be hwaiting long for your food.

Delicious food I certainly would recommend Hwaiting and will return when next in Perth.

Original Korean style fried chicken with wedges.

Very enjoyable dinner. Had the pork bulgogi, husband had the pork steak & we shared KFC original wings. Very good serving size, couldn't finish it all. Will definitely be back next time we are in Perth.

By far the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. So crunchy and no oil.
If I had to choose only one thing I could eat for the rest of my life, I would choose Hwaiting's original Korean fried chicken.

Always Good foods, Good Service, Good Perfomance

Had a mini banquet for 2 last night: BBQ Beef, KFC Chicken and Korean Pork Katsu. It came with so many accompaniments and all was so fresh and delicious. Can not believe it's taken so long to find a great Korean kitchen with wonderful service and food. Must have weekly now 🙂

This is our go to place for Korean fried chicken in Northbridge. We love the chicken wings, both the original and sweet/spicy. Also enjoy the Beef steak and bibimbap, pretty much hit this joint at least once a week! All main meals come with kimchi :)

I love this place i always go here when i’m hungry and don’t want to spend too much money. Today I went to have a meal but caught them as they were closing. The Lady saw me struggling to find a different place to eat at and said that she can take my order even though they were closed. Amazing customer service, thank you for taking me even though yous were closed.

Today I came here twice, for lunch and dinner.
Hot stone bibimpa is amazing, also the fried chicken is gorgeous, one of the best I had in Perth, is really light and crispy. Definitely aa thong up for this place. It is a kind of take away, but the quality and freshness of food doesn't have nothing to envie to a restaurant.

I think Hwaiting has to be the best Korean food I’ve had in Perth. The food is seriously high quality which definitely took me by surprise the first time given the location. Don’t sleep on this place.

Tteokbokki was very good, it taste more original compare to other Korean restaurants. It is more worthy, also will come again try other dishes

Had the bibimbap and it was Soo delicious. Can definitely recommend :)
