Ancient World

for about five years ancient world has been my go to bar in Adelaide. It's pretty good and it's variety of karaoke on a Wednesday and live music over the weekend. If you can catch ancient world on a night where they're bands you get really good, intimate performances and I feel like a lot of the bands really do produce their best material in ancient world band. Space some of the electronica can be a little bit hit and miss, but I'm more a rock 'n' roll fan myself, I would recommend ancient world on any bucket list of backpackers, interstate, and international people wanting to get a taste of what Adelaide underground scene is like on any given night Tuesday to Sunday

Didn't eat there, but from the door lady and customer service.. to.the loud drum n bass.. I had a great time! Thanks for the experience....

Intimate and curated venue with a focus on underground music across all spectrums and zero tolerance for antisocial behaviour. Hard working, friendly & dedicated staff at one of very, very few spaces in Adelaide with legit underground electronic music (frequently). Extremely cute decor with lots of cozy nooks and crannies to explore.

Super cozy amazing nightlife spot run by local artists! A variety of fantastic music ranging from DJs to live bands every week, with karaoke on Wednesdays. You'll always hear music here that you won't get to hear in the more mainstream clubs on Hindley, check out their Facebook page to see what's on if you're curious.

Friendly and warm staff who are passionate about the venue and cultivating a safe space for all. Fireplace, chess board and live microscope for your enjoyment. LGBTIQA+ friendly. 🏳‍🌈

Vibrant and unique art throughout the venue. Features a beer garden on ground level and the main bar/dancefloor space is underground. The vibes at Ancient World are unmatched!

Interesting little underground bar and venue. Heading down Conrad Lane to get there feels like you're being sent into an ambush, but you're not! It's lovely to find a friendly alternative place tucked away in the heart of the city. A friend who works in the city plans to make it her regular!

Literally my first night out in Adelaide. Great venue, great punters, great promoters, decent prices on entry average prices on drinks. Had a kick arse night!

At first i didn't even know this bar existed. It is a hidden one located off a side street. This is a cute small place that has a lot of character. I happened to go on a night when they did karaoke, and it was well worth it to see the giggle and smiles come out

Brilliant alternative venue. Everything from the decor to the music to the drinks to the patrons has a character to it. In the basement out the back of 116 Hindley St (down a small alley). Great place to spend a night!

I've only been to a few clubs, but Ancient World is top of the list, the music, environment and relaxed vibe isn't for everyone, but for those that enjoy that type of thing, it's perfect.

It's a fantastic place to grab a drink, chill out to some live music on one of the many couches. It's in the perfect location for getting away from the heavy, "doof doof" nature of Hindley for a bit.

If you want a club that feels like an easter egg in a video game, this is it

Loved the vibe of this place. Cool music that you won't hear in many other places and you can dance with people you wouldn't see in many other places.

Really cute vibe, reminds me of Melbourne - lovely staff. Hard to find, but I guess that adds to the vibe. Worth it once you get there tho.
