Bremer River Cottage

We came to the cafe for a late lunch after our visit in Monarto zoo. It’s a charming family cafe with delightful homemade organic food. The owner and her daughter are exceptionally friendly and engaging. After our meal, she graciously showed us her ducks and chickens in the yard. My children were so interest to see these pets. We couldn't resist purchasing the fresh, organic peaches and plums at such reasonable prices. Thank you for providing such wonderful country-style cuisine with a focus on quality. We look forward to visiting again.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way back to Melbourne.

The owner was very nice and sensible. She asked our preference in a very detailed and careful way, like vegetarian equivalent or hard/soft boiled egg. The price was very reasonable, and the arrangement is that you will sit in a farm, underneath the vines, surrounded with chickens and geese. Overall a nice experience that I would happy to have again on the way to Adelaide.

The service is magnificent. Their cooking is perfect, probably because the chef was a professional at a real restaurant (they told us). The fruit that they sold was also cheap but sweet. The food overall was perfect. They make their food so yummy but simple. So cheap too! They were kind enough to let us in, even though we where late at 2 o'clock when they close. They were kind and also showed us the ducks that they owned. To be honest, this place is underated and should be a more popular place, for they are soo good!

Had fish and chips and the young lady was a delight to talk to.

There is a small place where you can sit and enjoy the food, right when you come out and take a left turn to cross the old bridge over the Bremer river.

Pretty scenic a view with birds chirping and returning home in the evening.

Great cafe, with home delivery for locals in the evening. lots of variety on the menu. American style food and porion size! Affordable prices, friendly service.

Ordered fish and chips and onion rings .

Chips were crispy and golden brown, just delightful .

The oil they cooked the food in is super fresh and clean.

Fish was amazing as well, the tartare sauce is incredible .

The sign said take away only but they cleaned up an outdoor table for us.
I had beef and mushroom pie and a sausage roll. The pie is chunky mushrooms and mince in glazed puff pastry, home made, with unique seasoning.
Soft drink selection is quite good, Mountain Fresh and Bundaberg ranges are there.
Nice place - no river views though.

Today we stopped for the second time at this rustic little Cafe in Callington.
The home made pies are really delicious. We both love the steak & mushroom pies. Delicious, generously sized pies at very reasonable prices. Much more food/ drinks/coffee available too.
Would recommend stopping on your way through Callington, on the Strathalbyn Road, at this great little place set up in the yard of the owner.

What an incredible experience. This isn’t a place you go to just for food but for the experience. Run by an American Mum and Daughter, we were sat outside in what can only be described as a secret garden complete with roosters, chickens, ducks and their babies. We had pizza’s and burgers and a club sandwich. All with enough left overs for lunch the next day at about the same cost as our usual family take away. The food tasted amazing, mum makes all the pastries and pies herself. We didn’t have one this visit, but her schnitzel are hand crumbed, so that’s my order for next time. Evening isn’t their best time as the have lots of takeout orders and are pretty stressed but definitely one to visit during the day.

Awesome little Cafe/Takeway store that has a surprisingly good variety of food. I get food from here 3 or more times a week most weeks, which is made easier when I've had a few alcoholic beverages with their local delivery service. I recommend the burgers, the seafood and the Philly Cheese Steak roll.

Lovely take-away shop! Big serves, so be ready to have a very full belly! Can order through front window, which makes it quick and easy. Good parking too!

Food was amazing, generous and well priced. We had philli cheese steak, beef snitzels, burger and wedges. All were cooked perfectly. Even though the diner feels like a home kitchen, its 5 star chef quality.

Friendly owner and a nice spot too. Odered a piece of fish and chips the other day. Glad i did, it was well cooked with a fantastic tartare sauce. Well priced too; the meal plus two Boost choc bars for $9! I'll be back!

Burger with the lot superb, from first mouthful to the last. Yesterday we ordered 2 also chicken snitzel, thoroughly recommend this place.

Stopped by here in the middle of a road trip. Owner is super sweet and accommodating. Food was great value and well prepared. Yum.
