The service is always so nice here. The portions are generous and the food is undeniable authentic Indonesian. Our usually order is hot dishes from the Bain Marie. Highly recommend the beef rendang here - consistently good. This is what I always crave.

I’m a regular customer for years here at glen ferrie and in the city but recently I witnessed the change. The price increase I understand the reason and I respect that but the quantity also reduced dramatically, so now I’m not sure if is worth it anymore. I want you to notice my review and make your choice and I’m sure I’m not the only one who support you and feel the same way as me.
By the way chefs, your food is always better compare to the city!

First trip to Melbourne! Had lunch here with my family. Food was excellent and tasty, big portion and it was a hearty meal! It was very nice ambience, easy to find from where we took our tram. The service also very fast, the waiter was very welcoming to us, newcomers!

Very good serving of halal Indonesian food in the area with multiple dishes on offer.
Will come back to try other dishes on offer, on days other than Tuesdays!

Nice relaxing place to eat Indonesian food we been visiting Nelayan for quite sometime now. My children loves their yellow rice and the chicken. Highly recommend!!

Good portion and good taste, authenthic Indonesian. I got mine ( choose your own ) for like 13$ and very full. If you like sambal you can take as much as you want. My partner get bakmi ayam also very good. We are happy customer!

I have cherished Nelayan since my childhood days, when my family and I used to visit every Sunday after church. The authenticity of their Indonesian cuisine has remained consistent over the years, and it brings back a flood of fond memories with each visit. The flavours here are a true homage to the traditional dishes I grew up with, making it a special place that I hold close to my heart. The warm service and welcoming atmosphere are just icing on the cake. Nelayan will always have a special place in my culinary journey.

Best beef rendang I’ve had in Australia, tastes just like homemade rendang in Indonesia. Cheap and generous portions too. Will definitely be back for more.
