Gisborne Steam Park

Great to kill a couple of hours with the kids. The train models are great and well detailed, the ride on mini train is great little experience. Grab a sneaky BBQ snag while you're there too.

We visited during the annual Steam Fest and were impressed with the great collection and eager volunteers. HO layout is great, as well as the running steam locomotive and traction engine. Large variety of specialty hobbies such as wood-turning, RC aircraft and miniature engines on interactive display.

Fun informal place to stop for the train enthusiast youngsters.
They have a mini train, and model trains and a historic tram to climb inside and some vintage tractors and train engines.
Only a portaloo toilet and no cafe but they have a sausage sizzle.

Great carols great singing lots of stalls - more toilets needed next time

I went with my family. A chilly day but the children had fun on the train and camels.

Fun place when they have events.

Son loved the train ride, but beyond that, the experience falls short. It felt as though so much more could have been done to improve the space, show off more trains, and innovate the dioramas. Seriously considering joining the society to give the whole place a face lift.
