The best fish and chip shop in the area, with generous portions and great service. It’s outstanding value. As a general rule, I don’t eat fish and chips often but when I do, I go to this place on an empty stomach and get the Snack Pack. I highly recommend this place; it offers far better value than the fast-food options nearby with quicker and friendlier service!!

Excellent Fish and Chips. I had the flake on several occasions. The pieces were always huge and freshly battered. I tried a hamburger with the lot, and a chicken souvlaki on separate occasions which did two meals on both occasions.
I also had dim sims, potato cakes, pineapple fritters, fish cakes and of course chips. All cooked to perfection. Always more than I could eat plus a little extra put in. Thank you Bill for looking after me.

The owner or main chef is amazing. Super nice and friendly. Food sizes are so big and yummy.

Bill has been selling fish n chips for over 30 years and knows a thing or two about fresh fish and crispy chips so if you want old school fish and chips - real flake (fresh and not frozen) - and generous serves then give North Rd Fish And Chips a try. You won't be disappointed. Oh and Bill is generous. No short cuts here. And his hand cut chips are just like you remember them - taste like real potatoes with the little salty crispy bits at the bottom of the box. Delicious.

A great local find!

Large, juicy burger with the lot, cooked to perfection. Golden chips and tasty potato cakes too.

Bill runs an old fashioned shop and has a regular clientele that he has built an obvious rapport with as he seems to know everyone by their name as they wonder in for a feed and have a chat as their orders are prepared.

Looking forward to trying the souvlaki next. 😀

Best fish n chips in melbourne so far hands down. The amount of chips can feed an army. And they were like 'beer battered chips'. An extra fish thrown in. Maybe i looked hungry? Lol. Would recommend highly to do yourself a favour and give them a try!

Amazing find. Old school fish and chips shop. We had burgers - they were huge and delicious. Generous fillings. Owner was friendly, rounded down the amount owing, threw in extra potato cakes, just don’t find these places anymore.

After living in the area for 8 years and driving past hundreds of time and thinking “ I must try that place sometime” today I did .

I was greeted by the owner as I walked in and instantly knew this guy means business, friendly, good sense of humor and very obvious he knows his customers and knows the business.

I ordered the whiting with chips and it was perfect!!! Generous servicing of hot fresh fish. The batter was very light and crispy but not too crispy that it’s hard and thick, and not soggy or over oily.

I told the owner. Knew I’d be back before even eating the food and I can report I saw right

10/10 for the food, the service and for the old school fish and chips that is hard to find these days

Great fish. Batter was perfectly crispy. French fries were delightfully cooked. The sweet potato chips were amazing. I have not seen sweet potato chips done well untill today. Kids demolished it all in record time. Thank you for the great dinner!
