Kun Yao Thai Restaurant

This restaurant is almost an hours drive from me (meeting friends that live on that side of town), but my gosh it was worth each and every mile.

The food here was beautiful. The decor is lovely and the service was good. There was six of us, and each of us enjoyed what we ordered. Everything went right (other than forgetting one side dish of coconut rice which came out promptly after reminding them), and otherwise it was a good experience.

I got curry puffs and chew chee salmon, and both were scrumptious. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again. You do need to search for it, as it's in a shopping complex and tucked in towards the back, but it's worth giving it a go. And once you're done eating, especially in summer, just take a minute stroll to the lake front where it's just beautiful and serene. Definitely come here if you're in the area ... or if you too have friends that live closer to it than you do, but it's a hike. It's truly worth it.

Food was fantastic and our service was prompt and friendly. Many of the dishes are battered but it is a light batter and we really liked it. We had 6 different starters and 6 mains and all were good. Duck stir fry and fish were favourites. They also do take away.

Absolutely authentic Thai food. The curry and stir fried food is like eating it on the streets of Pattaya. I have been to a few Thai places in VIC which claim to be authentic but this one beats them all.

Our favorite Thai restaurant...every time we eat here we come away feeling full and happy. The food never lets us down and the staff are great. We moved away from Patterson Lakes, but still make the trip to go to Kun Yao..

What a nice find. Ordered the fried chicken and red curry (hot) and they were deliciously spicy. It was still nice and hot by the time it was delivered, vegies slightly crunchy not soggy and crispy chicken!

We have been going here for about 7 years (used to live in Patterson Lakes) and I have to say my most favourite dish in the whole world is the Kun Yao Special Chicken!! Satay sticks, curry puffs, curries, roti.....everythiing we have had there has been great. Well worth the trip (make sure you try the Kun Yao Special Chicken)!!

Wow definitely the best Thai food I have ordered to my house ever. Pleasantly surprised. Just as good as any Thai food you will get in Thailand.

After living 12 years in Thailand I had to come to Melbourne to find my favourite Thai restaurant. Great food and very friendly service.

Staff attentive. Great beef massaman curry. Loved the mixed entrees platter.

I cant believe i didnt know about this place. Its a little hidden gem. Good value for money and the staff are very friendly and accommedating. But ill definately return for the food.

Fabulous Thai restaurant in Patterson Lakes, the food is delicious and the staff whilst a little on the slow side are very friendly and happy to help.

Best Thai around. Better than Brown Rice. Duck red curry is sensational. Every dish is perfect.
