Thanks to the helpful staff we found things for all members of our family - business books, tween books, and tarot cards!. For Dr Joe Dispenza’s fans, they had five copies of Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself on the day that I visited

Lovely book store. Not cheap but almost worth it just for the in-store experience and great range.

Well, you can't.
Where would you sleep?
The Accounting and Finance section?
Don't worry though, Readings St Kilda is one of the best places to hunt books. Especially because of some stellar staff recommendations.

GREAT BOOKSTORE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF TITLES AND EVEN HAS VINYL MUSIC!
I have been a regular customer of Readings in Carlton and happened to be at Readings St Kilda for the launch of a book - Ironbark - by bright new author Jay Carmichael.
The store is just as welcoming as the Carlton store with helpful staff, well displayed stock and some quite eclectic collections.
There is even a vinyl music section for those with a technology nostalgia :)
For people with mobility issues, the store has a flat floor with no steps and plenty of room to negotiate a wheelchair.

This is an amazing book shop and the customer service at this place is impeccable. I was looking for a book and although the book wasn't in stock, the staff helped me find a place that did as well as having a good look for it in store. This book shop deserves more stars, it's a great store.

This place is just amazing. There’s a variety of books here you won’t find anywhere else. And unlike a lot of these niche bookstores, the books (and records and CDs) are actually reasonably priced. They have a bargain table which, true to its name, offers a variety of books on different subjects for cheap. A must visit if you’re a bibliophile in Melbourne.

Awesome bookshop with an extensive section for children. The shop is laid out well and a pleasant atmosphere. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and great to chat to.

The shop is children friendly as well and enough space for prams to navigate through.

Like with the Readings in Hawthorn, I could easily spend too much time and too much money in this store. There is a wide range on offer, with helpful and friendly staff available. Very recommended if you love to find the latest thing or a little-known story.

Awesome book shop along Ackland St! Obviously books of all genres, with a focus on cooking and a large section for children's books. There's also a section devoted to film/TV and Music!
The store has a really cosy vibe to it, with a dark grey and timber style decor. Books were reasonably priced* (priced the same as other books stores in Melbourne). It's a great looking store, but if there were a few more places to sit down in to take a bit more time to browse through a book that would only make it better!

I went there recently and they have all kinds of classics, even playscripts: I bought 'The Lady in the Van', Great little read!

Not many bookstores are left and with Amazon's Kindle and for the company I write for reviews everything is going online. Don't get me wrong and I do understand progress and where we are heading, nothing beats a book the smell of it something that is there in print something that it's not a motion to turn pages or if you happen to run out of power it doesn't work. But everything changes and the biggest culprits for the demise of bookstores can be found in Canberra and the worst was one of our PM who's very close relative wanted to be a writer. Get rid of taxes and there will be always a hard copy. Having been there to see if there was something to grab my attention which there was I found this bookstore to be staffed with very helpful and very knowledgeable about what they trade. The store is open floorplan and well stocked of whatever category your after I walked away with 2 books on Australian and world wide street art. There was a few more books about Melbourne in pictures and Melbourne before and after the turn of the century in pictures. But price did dictated what I bought. If you are in Acland st St Kilda go and buy something that will make the trip home in the train more bearable. And if you love reading don't forget to remind the people who can change things what you think

Very complete book store, with titles that I haven't seen in other places, specially the selection of vegetarian/vegan cookbooks. I went to the launch of the book Milkwood (skills for growing your own food), very interesting.
