I visited with my 3 year old for Storytime. We sang songs and read books in a group. The kids had a good time! The library itself is small but very neat and tidy and quite spacious, with a nice little patch of grass for reading outdoors.

A bit far away from the train station with limited study space, but very quiet environment, and the cheap book sale is great!

For study purposes and other activities it is great. However I found the seats at the front of the library (the study section) to be extremely high. Students who like to study here would find it a work to crunch over the table from the height of the seats. It would be great if there would be comfy and suitable chairs when studying.

Haberfield library was one of my favourite places to visit with it's friendly staff, good selection of books, interesting internal character with comfortable welcoming areas to read, study and use computers, kids running inside after school to find books to read and borrow, they even had a community seed swap box, all before the major renovations occured.
I was excited and expected a big improvements but on visiting the 'new' library I disappointed to find it modern cold and sterile much like a mausoleum. Bland white walls and dark timber floors and shelves which were lined orderly like pews.
Lost was the warmth, fun and character the old library had to be replaced with modern blandness.
I felt was nothing welcoming or inviting to encourage the discovery of new books to read, and was surprised that the only thing which stood out amongst the inane shelves was the high number of rainbow stickers on the books spine for the LGBT readers.
The study and reading area is at the entrance separated from the actual library which makes no sense.
Sadly the seed swap box is no longer there.
