River Run Lodge

I recently had the pleasure of attending an event at River Run Lodge, where I was introduced to their new function called Cray Bake, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped on the grounds, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality.

The ambiance at River Run Lodge is simply stunning. The rustic yet elegant decor creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for any occasion. As for the Cray Bake function, it's a unique concept that combines the charm of a cooking Cray Fish with a modern twist.

The food at Cray Bake was exceptional. Every dish was expertly prepared, using fresh Cray Fish and ingredients that tantalised the taste buds. From savory seafood to delectable desserts, there was something to please every palate. The presentation was also top-notch, adding an extra touch of sophistication to the dining experience.

The staff at River Run Lodge went above and beyond to ensure that every guest had a memorable time. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanour combined with the live music made the event truly special.

Overall, I highly recommend River Run Lodge and the Cray Bake function to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in delicious food & music this is the place to be. I can't wait to visit again soon!

This was by far the best campground I have stayed at. The amenities were above and beyond what I expected from a campground. Everything was so well thought of and the atmosphere of this place is incredible. I am celiac (gluten free), vegetarian and have a nut allergy and they were able to cater for me. The halloumi burger is absolutely delicious! Great place for dinner and drinks with live music and the perfect place to stay to rewind. We will definitely be back

Cabins, bathroom and lounge were spotless and everything has been stylishly renovated or updated. Super cool place right on water surrounded by bush. Best kayaking experience I’ve had by far. The tavern is exquisite and totally feels like you’re walking into a movie. Food was fantastic and cheap. I absolutely loved the place and the staff. I will definitely be back. Appreciated they had a gym too. Highly recommend to anyone it’s a hidden haven!

Loved our stay at the River Run Lodge. It is just an hour and half drive drom Hobart and is located very close to the River . The staff ( specially the guy at the bar ) were very friendly and welcoming .

Rooms were clean and equipped with towels , brush , extra blankets and cute lamp under the bunk beds . The women’s toilet was clean both am and pm , but men’s toilet was not in the best condition.
We were able to hire kayak from the Tavern and enjoyed our trip around the lake .
Limited food and drink options at Tavern but enjoyed the drinks with the view .
Breakfast was average but a little more options would have been great .
Dogs are all welcome , even off lead if trained well .

We came to the tavern on 2 weekend evenings and it’s a great spot right on a scenic river and beautiful background. Service, food, cocktails and beer were great and the tavern is cozy and super comfortable. They had live music both weekend evenings and that was great as well. Next time we plan to stay at a cabin.

I spent the last two nights at the River Run Lodge and I cannot give a higher rating. The location, staff, cabins, lounge, ablutions and recreation area were all superb. ‘Clean and comfortable.’ The on-site manager was awesome. I am definitely going back!

Perfect to rest and enjoy south Tasmania! Great food in the Tavern, very kind attention, unique landscape, the place is clean and quiet, full equiped kitchen, shop just to 5 minutes drive, so... 5 stars!

Loved River Run Lodge. The decor is fabulous, there is a good selection of beverages and yummy burgers on the menu. Friendly service and a beautiful view both inside and out. A unique place to visit, highly recommend it.

We spent a few nights in our van at River Run Lodge and couldn't fault the experience. The grounds and amenities were all well maintained. The staff were friendly, easy going and fun to be around! The entertainment and food were high calibre and were only outshone by the breathtaking views. One of the best weekend escapes I've been to and only a short distance from the city. If you haven't been there yet, it's definitely worth the trip.

Family of 4 stayed overnight. Rooms were warm, bathroom facilities were great n modern, communal kitchen/lounge was excellent. Unfortunately the continental breakfast was very lacking and the on-site tavern was closed without notification, probably due to very few bookings. Still would stay again.

One of the most breathtaking locations, sure to impress and entertain. The staff were beyond amazing, the site lush and maintained, and the food was a perfect balance of curated classics. The whole experience was warm and inviting, and that is despite the cooler rainier weather which honestly just added to the ambiance more.

What a fabulous place! Needed somewhere to camp over the March long weekend, but understandably they were fully booked for camping when I phoned only a week out. However, they offered a cabin instead, and at $210 it was just perfect. The cabins sleep 6, there are lovely bathroom and toilet facilities, and the tavern is the most relaxing place… open fire, great bar, and dining options. We self-catered for dinner in the well-equiped camp kitchen, and a continental breakfast was included. Chatted to other guests over drinks in front of the roaring fire, toasted marshmallows, and generally just enjoyed the friendly (staff included) and chill atmosphere. We will return.

Our little 2 night weekend getaway was just what we all needed after a super busy few months. The weather was atrocious but we didn't mind one bit. We sat by the huge fire in the shared guest lounge. The couches are really comfortable. We played board games, all supplied by our hosts. We made many cups of tea and coffee, also all supplied. I'm not even at the best bit yet...we didn't cook at all. The team have set up an incredible Tavern complete with more fire places and plenty of comfortable seating options. They serve delicious hot meals and small plates along with a very respectable Whiskey Hot Toddy! I wanted for nothing!
The cabin beds were perfect for what e wanted in a simple weekend away. It's simple, done well and with style. We'll be back!

Came away from River Run Lodge feeling completely recharged and full of amazing memories from our stay. The accommodation was perfect, the facilities clean and very well maintained and the addition of the Tavern which not only provided good food but entertainment in front of the water and fire pits was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Had a lovely lunch here with a group of 8. Very relaxing charming environment with cozy fireplaces and seating. Has a small menu but everything we had was delicious! Highly recommend the seafood chowder, the Massaman beef Curry, and the lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced too! Amazing river views and interesting rustic antique decorations. Could've sat there all day by the fireplace. Can't wait to go back!

This place is an absolute gem! We stumbled across it after having last minute changes to our holiday and we are so glad we did! Location is stunning, facilities are fantastic and the atmosphere of the whole place (the on site tavern in particular) was so warm, welcoming and beautifully styled. The hosts are great guys and made the stay so enjoyable. Great for kids, groups and any other excuse really! Highly recommend and we will be back. Resident goats Rosie and Hazel were a cute surprise too.

What an awesome place. Just what we needed. The setting is absolutely stunning and close to the World Heritage National Parks. The hospitality of the owners - Lachlan & Nathan - was the best I've experienced in a long time. They love what they do and they love making everyone's stay a memorable one. Lots for the kids to do and the Tavern provides a great place in the evenings to sit by a fire with a nice drink and great food and mingle with other guests and locals alike. A place not to miss on your trip down south.

Last weekend I had the best time at River Run Lodge with my friends!!! This is very tidy and lovely place equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice bathroom, the lounge jetty I loved it. They are a great hosts and there when you need them. I definitely recommend this place, is perfect for groups.
