We loved everything about our stay. The Granary has been lovingly restored to celebrate its history while at the same time being a luxurious place to stay. Fiona and Nick are fabulous hosts who made us feel welcome from our initial contact to make a booking and throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble including collecting our online grocery and meals orders ready for our late arrival on our 1st night. The Granary is great for groups, plenty of space to enjoy time together as well as spread out by yourself. The well-stocked kitchen has everything you need and is a comfortable and welcoming place to sit and chat.

We can't wait to visit again, with the delightful choice of either staying in the Granary again or opting for the stylish and beautiful new cottage. Thank you Fiona and Nick, your warm welcome and excellent customer service made for a perfect stay.

We stayed as a family party of 5 at The Granary. Our host, Fiona was so gracious with her time and so lovely to speak with. The accommodation and landscaped gardens were impeccable.
The Granary was, to be honest the most enjoyable and most relaxing place we have ever stayed in Tasmania. We can't recommend The Granary more highly! 10/10

Staying at the Granary was one of those lifetime memory-making experiences. The Granary is the most beautifully restored historic building, now a sumptuously comfortable place to stay-comfy sofas, beautiful bedding, spacious living areas with views through French paned windows and doors to a breathtaking landscape in every direction, well equipped kitchen and a wonderful wood fire when needed, beautiful books to look at, and a lovely walk down to the nearby river winding through the property.
Fiona is such a warm and friendly host. She walked us around her beautiful garden with spring flowers blooming, marvellous old oaks and expansive lawns. Breathtaking.
This is a very special place and we hope to return one day for another stay.
Thankyou Fiona for making us feel so welcome. Everything was perfect.

The Granary is truly the most special stay in Tasmania. After getting married there in June last year, we wouldn't have wanted to spend our anniversary anywhere but at the Granary! Fiona and Nick are the most incredible hosts and go above and beyond for their guests. We were lucky enough to be some of the first people to check out the newly renovated Cottage and could not believe how perfectly curated it was. We now cannot wait to come back and enjoy a stay at the Cottage. Especially because of the beautiful bath tub!! We look forward to many more stays at this magical property and can't thank Fiona and Nick enough for looking after us. x

We recently stayed and hosted our micro wedding at the The Granary surrounded by our immediate families. Fiona is an exceptional host, who considers and curates every small detail in the overall experience of staying at this beautiful property. Th gardens are exceptionally manicured, with a gorgeous view everywhere you look. The property is full of history and charm that is unlike anywhere else we have ever visited. We am so grateful that we could celebrate our marriage standing on the gorgeous steps at the front with the most beautiful backdrop behind. The ideal place to spend a weekend with friends or family and indulge in the rejuvenation that The Granary has to offer. We only wish we had of had more time to fully explore and relax instead of preparing for a wedding, therefore we will endeavour to return in the future!

Staying with Fiona and Nick at the Granary was an absolute delight from the moment of our initial enquiry through to our departure. The Granary provides the perfect balance of privacy and on-site access to your hosts. The gorgeous lounge, dining and kitchen areas are incredibly generous in their proportions, whilst the furniture choices and decor enable you to instantly relax in the comfortable and well-styled surrounds.

Highlights include afternoon coffees on the beautiful sun-filled deck, evenings by the fire, and glorious sleeps in the super comfortable beds with superior quality linen.

Enjoy days exploring the property and take drives to nearby towns and eateries.

We look forward to returning and being welcomed back by the beautiful owners. Thank you again Fiona for a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at The Granary!
From first booking, communication with Fiona was easy, helpful and Fiona was happy to answer any of my queries.
The Granary is a wonderful building and the way it is presented is truly welcoming and lovely. Gorgeous furnishings, Plenty of room to spread out and the upstairs kitchen, living room areas are great if you have a few staying, with all facilities if you want to stay in and cook your own dinner.
It was great to arrive in the evening and have the house warmed and the fire lit - a very welcome start to our stay on a cold winter evening!
The Granary is set in a lovely rural landscape and we also really enjoyed having a walk and chat around the main homestead garden with Fiona on the morning we left.
Whilst coffee machine is provided, great coffee can be had by heading into Cressy (about 5 minutes away) and pretty small towns are not far away for pottering about.
I will definitely be putting The Granary in my little black travel book of places to visit again.

The Granary is one of the most exceptional experiences in Tasmania. It is more than simply accommodation. It is deep immersion in style, comfort and luxury made all the more memorable by the personal touches of the hosts Fiona and Nick.

As you enter the remarkable premises through the long heritage listed hawthorn hedges you are greeted by a sandstone building of timeless beauty surrounded by superbly manicured gardens. Inside exudes stylish understated luxury. There is a gentleness to The Granary that embraces you like a warm hug. This might come from Fiona’s homemade cake and fresh cut flowers that welcome you on arrival in the expansive open-plan kitchen and living area with five couches inviting you to recline and relax.

The Granary is an unequivocal experience and a destination.

Love. Love. Love.

Fiona and Nick are the consummate hosts and The Granary is breathtaking. We will always seek out a unique place to stay and the Granary ranks at the very top in every respect. It is beautiful, welcoming, so comfortable and just so perfectly imperfect! - 200 years of history in every corner and every brick, yet so wonderfully composed and styled to feel so contemporary. We felt completely spoilt!
We couldn’t recommend it more highly - and next time we are definitely staying longer!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Granary. The pictures are beautiful but to experience the magic of the property in real life is something else! We had the most wonderful weekend away at The Granary! The sandstone House was simply stunning, and the grounds were beautiful and filled with friendly wildlife. The faultless amenities and the cozy wood fire made for an incredibly relaxing stay with friends, so much so, we didn't leave the property all weekend!

A magical stay! Do not miss the opportunity to experience this very special property oozing in history and charm!
They say first impressions are everything and this could not be more accurate with the Granary as you drive along the heritage listed hawthorn hedge driveway, past the apple and plum trees abounding in fruit to the stunningly restored 1820's building that could just as easily be nestled in Provence. The interior did not disappoint with beautiful styling and absolutely everything that we could hope for including a freshly baked cake waiting for us in the farmhouse kitchen! Our gorgeous host Fiona is passionate about the history of the property and gave us a special tour of her magnificent garden.
If you can drag yourself away from this beautiful property there is plenty to do with lunch at Josef Chromy well worth the visit.
We will definitely be back.

This is our third stay at The Granary, as it has become our families favourite escape - the perfect spot to come together and slow life down a little. The rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfortable - electric blankets very thoughtfully taking the edge off the Tassie winter - so we all slept so well. The hosts have thought of everything, with fires set and lit in time for your arrival, and the best supermarket (Hill St Grocer) 10 minutes down the road to get the most out of the incredible kitchen. It’s the type of place that you don’t want to leave all day - the holiday is The Granary itself!

My bridal party and I stayed at the Granary the night before our wedding. Not only is this property absolutely magical, Our Host Fiona was more than accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed and made our stay extra comfortable. I can’t fault our stay, the whole experience was just perfect! Highly recommend and can’t wait to be back!!

As we drove out the drive of The Granary at the end of our stay my husband stated ‘I am not ready to go leave yet’ and I shared his sentiments entirely. This is one of those truly wonderful travel experiences. After our warm welcome from Fiona and a tour of her very beautiful garden. We headed inside to find the most stunning house. Comfortable bed with beautiful linens, vast bathrooms that were immaculately clean and heavenly sofas that I happen to know can be purchased in Launceston if you can’t live without them! The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking up a storm.
I can not recommend Fiona’s beautiful house enough, you will not be disappointed.

The Granary at Richmond Hill is truly a beautiful place to stay. Driving into the property it is clear how special the property is and at a closer look is is clear how much love and attention to detail has been put into the house.

The photos don't do justice how large the space is and how amazing the grounds are. The Granary itself was enormous and equipped with everything you may need for a holiday. The house is decked out with games, kitchen appliances, seating areas and there is a river and pontoon that can be enjoyed on a warm day too.

Fiona (the host) makes you feel especially welcome and was so generous with her time in giving us a tour of the property and ensuring we were comfortable. I already cannot wait to come back to the Granary.

If only there was a six star option because The Granary Richmond Hill is second to none. I was recently lucky enough to stay two nights with a group of girlfriends, and to say the weekend was memorable is an understatement. Every aspect of this experience was exceptional, from Fiona Moses our most superb and gracious host, to the luxury fit-out of the The Granary itself. We were blessed with beautiful weather, so were able to walk around the Richmond Hill property where you really feel like you are stepping back in time. This is without doubt the best accommodation experience I have ever had in Tasmania and I'm already booked to come back with my family in 2021. Thank you Fiona and Nick for really doing hospitality right.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this property and look forward to returning.

It was a great experience staying in a convict-built stone and brick building now converted into spacious accommodation.

The Granary is tastefully decorated and furnished and surrounded by tranquil gardens.
The beds were very comfortable, and building was well heated and there was a wonderful wood fire. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to cook easily during our stay.

You are welcome to walk around the gardens and down to the river, where there is a picnic table and firepit.

Fiona and Nick were friendly and welcoming hosts
We were greeted on arrival with a warm cake on the kitchen table.
