A hidden gem on the road from Hobart to Freycinet! Enjoy a fantastic atmosphere in the back courtyard, savoring a delicious almond croissant while listening to the singing musket parakeet with the morning sun warming our backs.

I love this place, the atmosphere is awesome. You can sit out under the trees and enjoy the incredible food they serve. The salad sandwich was so delicious and fresh. But the piece of resistance is the magic slice. It is simply to die for. It was excellent value for money. Every traveler should put this place on their must go to list and try the magic slice. Who knows you might become addicted! 🤪

Velvet Cafe, today served my party some delicious delights, which we enjoyed in the outdoor pet-friendly courtyard. Lovely shaded area and if you are after some refreshments, in Sorell, I suggest you give this friendly cafe a go. Service was great too, a bonus in my book. Thank you Velvet.

Excellent breakfast (see image). Coffee strong & fresh… friendly service. Location is on Gordon St, Sorell. Plenty of on street parking out front.

Clean inside, comfortable seating indoors or takeaway. Plenty of food & beverage options. Highly recommended.

We had two lots of Takeaway coffee there in the last week. Absolutely amazing tasting stuff. I might go as far as saying best coffee I ever had. Friendly staff and super efficient.

Stopped in for an egg and bacon roll and coffee, was delicious!! A great range of food on offer, friendly service. Ideal place to recharge before driving up the East Coast.

After many recommendations, I was finally in Sorell long enough to try out the Velvet Cafe. I had the Eggs Benedict Florentine and it was cooked to perfection. I wish I had ordered a coffee because the ones coming out looked and smelt lovely. Atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Fantastic little cafe, will be back!

Always get a really good coffee here. The staff are friendly and the food is great.

By far the best Eggs Royale (Eggs Benny with Salmon) I’ve ever had.
Came here a week ago and couldn’t believe how good it was.
Had to come back again just to see if it was consistent, and it was 11/10 once again!
Fresh juice is also very refreshing and healthy.
Do yourself a favour and give this place a go!

Had the Velvet Big Breakfast and long black, these guys nailed it, loved it, very tastefully decorated on the inside

Please, PLEASE, try their Eggs Bene Wrap!!! They’re to die for!! Yummy till the last bite. Coffee is really good as well.. didn’t regret making the stop even though we are 20 minutes away from our destination (we are on a road trip, and usually only take our coffee away if we have more than an hour drive).

Lovely ambience with excellent location by the road. Friendly but most importantly food is superb and very good value as well.
