There's 2 main sites worthy of visiting for the national park. The summit and the rock pools. These are located on opposing sides of the national park, so it's probably best to choose which site to visit for the day. Might be a bit much to do both.

Overall there are a lot of trees and natural sites to view.

Thank you so much for not over engineering the tracks etc to this beautiful national Park and keeping it as natural as possible. Such a gorgeous place. Glad to see the 'ol health and safety issue put back into our personal responsibility.

Lovely place to take the kids for a swim, an "Adventure" for thirty minutes walking through the Aussie Bush to some beautiful swimming holes. I wouldn't recommend for those in wheelchairs as there are stairs at the end and a very narrow track, but people with walking sticks could navigate it. (Not to swim, only to look)

Amazing hike at mount Walsh. Did the hike in November when everything was dry and accessible. Hike from park to the top took about 1hr. After 45min the hike becomes really nice as you are at the last part where it is not just walking but also a little bit of climbing which is amazing! It is advisable to wear good shoes as it can be pretty slippery when it's dry (can't imagine when wet). Hike trail is well marked with yellow marks and ribbons along the way. if you are in the area a definite must go!

Not an easy walk to the top but it's a beautiful view. Wear hiking shoes with good grip and be prepared to scramble up and to partially slide down.

Great hike that is rewarded by awesome views at the top. The rock scrambling part 2/3 of the way up was fun and not too hard, you're unlikely to get seriously hurt if you do slip as its not completely exposed. Definitely wouldn't attempt it if it were raining.

Utopia rock pools were amazing
It's a bit of a hike from the car park and the rock face where the pools are can be pretty steep so unless you're sure footed I wouldn't attempt it.
There were 3 main pools and the water temperature was devine, very cool for a hot day. We took a couple of pool noodles for the kids as the pools are quite deep in places and the rock water slide definitely kept them busy.
There aren't any amenities there it's all bush so we did a loo stop in Bigenden and stocked up on goodies before we went up. Take lots of water, lunch and sunscreen and thongs or something for your feet as the rocks get hot.
Great experience! We'll be back 😃

They don't tell you how difficult this climb can be. It's not easy. Take plenty of water and some food. And your mobile. There is 4g phone signal with Telstra the whole way up. I even video called the wife from the top. In say that it's well worth the time and pain. 2hours to climb. Less coming down. The view at the top is nothing less than spectacular.

Absolutely beautiful, well worth the drive and walk. Amazing natural rock pool, clear blue water. If you ever get the chance the visit the walk is worth your wild. I can't wait yo visit again!

1 hour 20 mins drive from Harvey Bay.Once you parked there is only 20-25 minutes bushwalking towards the pools. Polls are a nice and deep enough to jump from height,What is warming enough as well.
Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend for anybody coming to Fraser Island or Harvey Bay for a visit for a day visit

The first half is always challenging, the rock climb is fun and well maintained. Don't stray from the labelled path and take great caution when walking down. It's all worth it in the end. Average 1-2hrs to the top and 1 hr to get down

This was a great hike. The incline was immediate. Quite difficult but I am no mountain climber. Holding tree roots and rocks to hoist ourselves up. We rested a few times on the way up with speculator views. Then the summit climb was bolder climbing. Easy coming down. Took us 2hrs. We both enjoyed it thoroughly and recommend it for all levels of fitness.

Lovely well maintained picnic area and toilet. The hike was fun but challenging. Highly recommend not doing this solo and definitely not when wet.

In the area? Visit Mount Walsh, you will not regret it. Trail starts easy from the picknick area but becomes difficult near the top. Be prepared to climb and slide down again. Lot's of loose rock. Went there in summer (January), took 3L of water with me, just enough.. If you don't have some experience with hard trails or no condition at all, think twice.
