Bowen Library

A wonderful space - bright and airy with two walls of glass windows looking out to trees - divided into different areas: e.g. tables for studying and working, armchairs for browsing, bean bags and cushioned benches for lounging. Lots of courses for all age groups.

The library is located on the first floor; take the stairs if you are mobile because the lone lift is extremely slow. There is a water dispenser near the snack machine on the first floor if you wish to fill up your water bottle.

This library is wonderful! You can expect:

- a great adult fiction range (plus YA, children, and chinese fiction)
- LOTS of great cosy places to sit and read quietly
- BOARDGAME library and TOY library!
- "red hot reads" - hot books right now with a 1 week borrow limit and no renewals!!!
- friendly staff!
- probably even more than i had time to explore - it was much larger than i'd expected!

Friendly atmosphere. They hold many interesting events for all ages. I love the toy library and children’s weekly activities.

A fantastic library, a hidden gem, mostly friendly and helpful staff, large range, needs more male authors in their fiction selection. 🤣😅. Quiet calm layout. Good selection. Excellent staff happy atmosphere. Good selection. Nice staff.

This Library is really clean and overall amazing, the computer system is great, and they run really fast and work well, the staff are really kind and helpful, once I had a guy insult me there and they took care of him immediately. Recommended to come here!

Today I was served by Nichola and it was an great experience. She was very polite and extremely helpful with renewing my card as well as informing me of the great library facilities through the app. I would definitely recommend her for employee of the month with her great customer service.

The Lionel Bowen Library has an excellent assortment of fiction and non-fiction and a very good local studies collection. Lots of activities too, including for littlies. Staff could not be more helpful. Small Cafe on premises and the Randwick Historical Society just upstairs. First class.

I had not visited a library since my school years. I needed to join recently, to do some scanning, printing and other office tasks. I honestly expected the experience to be drawn out, frustrating and painful. How pleasantly surprised and incredibly wrong I was!

I was immediately greeted by staff member Nicola. Nicola was so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I wish I could have recorded my experience of joining, having my account setup, putting credit on my card, emailing the print server, releasing the print jobs and more. The whole introduction, could have been used as the perfect example of world class customer service. It made my day in fact.

I messaged my wife immediately to tell her how pleased i was to have joined her favourite library.
Absolutely brilliant imo,10/10, A+. Thank you Nicola and all Bowen library staff. I look forward to returning.

These libraries are awesome. We paid $43 and could borrow a lot of toys to play, this is really a budget savior. Also, a good option on the rainy day -
they have lots of toys indoors. The coffee on the 1st floor is awesome.

Good collection of children books, a lot of toys to borrow and great place for kids to play. A lot of groups for all ages to attend. Lift is awful though. Coffee on the ground floor is nearly perfect.

Very helpful staff, friendly and willing to assist me with the process of using the loan computer searching and accessing the required documents together with the printing out of the pages needed. All round good result and much quicker than I could have expected to do on my own

A wide variety of books available and easy to find.
All the people are very friendly and helpful.

Very good the library has very good resources and if they don't have something they will try to get i t. Als the coffee cart downstairs makes the best coffee and fresh sandwich around

Great Place To Get Any Book You Like N Also Great Place To Have Some Quite Time To Yourself N Reed Or Jump On One Of The Computers. Staff Are Always Very Friendly N Very Respectful N Very Helpful. I'd Highly Recommend This Place To Anyone, Go Check Them Out Guys

Awesome place to read, relax and study with friends. Nicely located close to the shopping malls and many beaches too.

Great library with wonderful facilities and extras such as a toy library, nice cafe downstairs and numerous community events. We are so lucky to have this service.
