Shearwater Restaurant

Popped in for a dinner our parents had bought us for chrissy. We were immediately gretted with a smile as soon as we walked in and promptly seated. We were on a balcony behind a table that overlooked the river. We really wanted that table and the venue was happy to let us move once the previous people left. Service was nice and quick, our orders were taken in a nice prompt fashion. Good wine and drinks selection for a small restaurant.
We started off with the Antipasto platter, the selection of meat, cheese dips and roasted veg was nice (as with all places you go, a couple more slices of bread would be nice as standard).
My partner and I both had the scotch fillet for dinner and subbed in the truffle mash instead of the regular. The waiter who dropped them off got them the wrong way round (med rare and med well) however that is an easy mistake to make. In our opinion both were slightly overdone but not enough to remove a star as the meals were still both delicious. We were stuffed after this so didn't get to try the desserts however the selection loog good. All in all a nice place to go and we will be back next time we are in Coffs.

A delicious show of Australian cuisine and fantastic service to boot. Our male host was very inviting and made sure that our needs were catered to. Would certainly recommend this restaurant for a relaxed dinner with friends and family.

Wife and I had our first visit here last night, excellent service, excellent food, lovely vista along the river, just perfect…….will be back here without doubt. Just a wonderful evening being catered for by staff who know what they are doing and a Chef who knows his/her trade…… the trout was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. When we find a venue like this it’s a real treasure.

Amazing location, absolutely delicious food and the best customer service! Stopped here for lunch yesterday, not long after ordering the waiters came back with our drinks and an apology as there was some delay getting our order to the kitchen - we hadn't even noticed!! They generously gave us 2 rounds of drinks on the house - it was such a kind and lovely gesture! The food was excellent! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Coffs Harbour ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a great lunch here. We ordered beef cheek ragu and spiced squid. Though my tagliatelle was slightly overcooked, the flavors were there, and it was delicious. My wife loved the squid, especially its texture, which is soft but firm.

The view of the river is gorgeous and refreshing. You can see hundreds of fish swimming below.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, with a knack for photography😊. The service was excellent, and we did not have to wait long for our food to be served.

This place is perfect for a romantic date.

A very pretty lakeside restaurant at Coff Harbour. I drove all the way from Sydney to try it out, as expected, the breakfast is super tasty, and the portion is huge. Not to mention its high quality cheese, beacon, and locally hand crafted sausages. Super yummy! It is a place I would come to very morning.

Enjoyed a delightful evening here recently with 12 beautiful ladies. Our lovely host was very obliging and attentive. The food was delicious and I was very impressed with the welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely return to Shearwater on another visit to Coffs Harbour.

Just had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Shearwater. Garlic pizza, oysters, pork, steak, sticky date pudding.

We ate here for dinner. It's a great place for dinner with kids if you want something other than the usual.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. My fussy eater said it was the best place to eat (had crumbed chicken/chips/salad). Kids dessert looked amazing- Icecream, whipped cream and topping of choice.
Mains and dessert were also very tasting and filling.
Also a great spot with a view.
Definitely a place to visit if you're in Coffs Harbour. We booked online the afternoon of our visit. Booking was seamless.

Had Eggs Benedict and was done very well. Great location sitting outside with river views. Service was very friendly and quick. I was able to use my Frequent Values by entertainment discount voucher and as an extra bonus they accept American Express. I would definitely return! 5 Stars!

Food was delicious! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly! Atmosphere was special.

After a long drive and a last minute drop in meal, we were all so impressed with the service, food and somewhat hidden gem. Unfortunately, we all had the Snapper and although it was absolutely delicious well seasoned and accompanied with well balanced fresh condiments, we didn’t get a chance to try any of the other dishes which from afar looked just as good.
Give it a try and judge for yourself.

Great service, food and music. We had a child with special needs with us and our waiter was Chase. He was absolutely amazing with our kid, talked with him and made sure he was served straight away. Absolutely loved the place and highly recommend it.

Beautiful outlook & one of the best breakfasts ever. Great value & will definitely be back. Would love to know where they get their sausages from but we forgot to ask.

Me and my friends we really had a great night! Friendly staff with smiley face made our night much better! The view is also stunning!

Had Oysters Kilpatrick based on someone's Google review, didn't disappoint - generous size and delicious. Also had the fish n chips based on our waitress' recommendation and again didn't disappoint. Tasty crunchy batter and beautiful flaky Hoki. Even the side salad was nice. Great coffee and wonderful service from the staff who you can tell enjoy their jobs. Highly recommend, will be back again.

Amazing service and food! I had the pumpkin & feta salad along with the fries and aioli. My husband had the prawns and pasta. We shared the rhubarb & strawberry dessert.
We talked on the way back to our hotel about how much we enjoyed the meal. If we ever return to this town, we’ll definitely eat here again!
