Itacate & Mexican Deli

Best Mexican food and an amazing product selection. I love the tacos and always take home some tortillas, Oaxaca cheese and sauces! Close to the station so it’s really easy to access go and from work. Great addition to the local community.

WOW! This place has super delicious and authentic Mexican food. The breakfast menu is available from 9 am - 1 pm, but the other menu it is also available all day. They also sell coffee 😎. Food was super yum, and service was excellent.

It’s so small you probably wouldn’t notice it. A must go to for authentic Mexican, we had a few dishes not all pictured shown my fav was the tacos. Service was complete with the accent 👍

This deli serves some of the most Authentic and delicious Mexican street food you’ll find in Sydney.
The atmosphere is casual with friendly staff and plenty of little snacks and ingredients you can pick up to take the party home with you.
This place is definitely part of my regular rotation from now on!

Very welcoming little Mexican deli. The staff are very helpful and patient. Everything is very simple but very flavourful. Loved it so much. There is vego and GF options. Byo, a great place for a causal dinner with friends.

The second best “REAL MEXICAN FOOD” 🇲🇽in Australia! First one is The Tamaleria 💕 If you wanna try the authentic food we eat in Mexico you must visit Itacate, if you are expecting burritos with rice or plates with flowers on it, this is not the place, this is real Mexican food🤤

Great authentic Mexican food, and brekkie reminds me of our trips to Mexico so much! Good range of products to buy to make your own including fresh made tortillas & Oaxaca cheese

The owner, waiters and kitchen staff are Mexican. That is all you need to know. Different menu to any other “Mexican restaurants” in Sydney like pambazos, sopes and tamales. Plus they sell Mexican products such as salsa Buffalo, Mexican beans, green tomatoes, corn tortillas, and more.

Lovely, authentic Mexican in a very funky setting. Friendly service, lots of fresh options on the menu.

Bought some tortillas for my home tacos but was great to see a business do an acknowledgement of country in their shop.

Very casual stop for lunch and randomly picked up place in Redfern.
Glad we stop here for the Burrito lunch special.
It was very good particularly with the green pickle sauce.
Definitely will check this place again probably for dinner sometime soon.

Great selection of Mexican food and ingredients. My Mexican wife was excited. Our source of corn tacos, salsas and other authentic Mexican items.

Wow!! This is the only authentic Mexican place I’ve found in Sydney and the food is SO GOOD!!!
Don’t expect americanised Tex Mex, this is the real deal. The flavours are spot on and the quality of the food is excellent.
It’s a shame so may people reviewing this fabulous place are expecting something else; the fact is you won’t get better Mexican food in Sydney. Support this awesome place - we need more like them.

Cute place with friendly staff. I enjoyed my tacos, tamale and empanada. Looking forward to trying more of their authentic dishes.

Not sure why this place has mixed reviews. It is not a formal place with formal service. It is a very casual place for tacos and other popular (real) Mexican dishes. I thought the food was quite tasty and came very fast. I particularly loved the suadero tacos and I am so going back to eat them again.

Great food and convenient location close to Redfern station. Looking forward to the menu expanding as they get established in the neighbourhood!

Authentic and absolutely delicious Mexican food.
It smelled so good I even forgot to take pictures, and I upload a lot of pictures!
We had tacos, mole and gringa, and I'll go back for more for sure.

They even have a little stock of products you only get in Mexico, such as flaming hot Cheetos , and made in Mexico tacos

The service is always lovely. When they first opened the menu included mole, chilaquiles, enchiladas suizas, and I was so appreciative that we had access to authentic Mexican in Redfern. Progressively these dishes have been removed from the menu—though apparently through lack of demand. The tamales are great and I'm excited to hear the chilaquiles is about to come back - I recommend giving them a go

5 star taste! Clearly still getting the hang of service - bit slow - 30 min wait right on 12 for food to come out - know the team will get better. Portion sizes seemed a little small, but the taste was amazing. Look forward to going back in a few weeks and trying more of the menu. Refreshing to see so many wonderful vegetarian options - thank you!
