Hanoi on King Newtown

Lovely, quiet atmosphere to enjoy fresh and affordable Vietnamese food. Great value for the price, portions are suffient enough. The place was clean and the food was very tasty. A great option to eat in Newtown.

Can totally recommend "Hanoi on King" in Newtown for really authentic and delicious Vietnamese food with a northern bent. (Obviously!) Lovely owner and easy on the wallet too. Feels like dining in someone's house in Vietnam to be honest. And the BBQ Pork Skewers are absolutely amazing!

Great flavour and big portions. Fast and friendly service too. Definitely get value for money here.

Quaint little place that packs a punch on flavour! Had lunch/breakfast there today. First up it's really cute inside and the owner was very accommodating and friendly.

Pho arrived and we dug in with outr additives. Me chucking abhell of a lot of chilli in lol
Very nice balanced flavors but the texture of the meat was the star it was very silky smooth.

Look I find with pho it's all very personal sometimes I like more than others and although I loved this I like the local one I usually have better. But it's hardly worth down scoring as it was excellent 👌 just bit different sooooo.
Defo a five stars from us and service was lovely too.
Everyone was Viet except for us so I'd say it's rated well.
What I appreciated too was mint and lettuce served with spring rolls to wrap in which you barely get anymore.....
Definitely worth it at a mere 49 bux!!!

Hanoi on King has been my most staple restaurant since moving to the area almost two years ago. They serve the most delicious, authentic and nostalgic Northern style pho that I have come across in Sydney, and it never disappoints despite having eaten it countless times. Both the chicken and beef pho are equally satisfying, and the bun cha is also delicious - particularly for takeaway. The bbq pork skewers are a great appetiser, and their pickled garlic is always a highlight and a topic of conversation. The staff are so friendly and kind, and do their best to accommodate despite being very busy. I hope Hanoi on King continues to be successful for a long time. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Best Bun Cha ever, the fish sauce broth is not so sweet, rich in flavor, goes absolutely well with the noodles. Lots of grilled pork and fresh veggies. Perfect for anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese food near the city.

Very calming atmosphere in this restaurant. Menu is not big but has a range of traditional Vietnamese dishes. We tried both the beef and vegetarian pho and they had their own distinct, fresh and delicious broth. The spring rolls were amazing and veg rice paper rolls were perfectly prepared and tasty. Owner is very friendly and welcoming. I think this will become our go to for Vietnamese in the inner west.

Amazing restaurant with authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine. The bún ốc was amazing, bún chả has a large portion compared to the price (12 aud) and the Phở gà is very authentic. Overall a 9/10 (-1 due to the service being a bit slow)

Perfect warm broth of noodles on a cold and windy day! The portion was huge and the price was relatively cheap. The noodles were also very delicious, would recommend the fried spring rolls as well.

This place has the best pho I’ve had in Sydney. The broth is so rich and flavorful and the noodles just right. I love spice and their chillies and pickled garlic are a great addition to the pho. Could have this everyday !

The food here reminded us of the food we had in Vietnam. The pho was awesome tasty aromatic and the fried rolls were fantastic. Will definitely be back.

The environment is very cozy and clean. Also the restaurant owner is super friendly and provides great service to all customers. Their pho broth is very light and tasty. The portions of every dish were very decent as well. We also loved the fried spring rolls. I highly recommend the spring rolls to go with your bowl of pho!

Far less expensive than a trip to Hanoi, this modest restaurant offers an authentic North Vietnamese cooking experience in Newtown.

Came on a slow Saturday evening, I think it’s far more crowded during lunch. Staff were very kind and the food was arrived quickly. The inside isn’t particularly special with just a handful of tables.

Decided to wander off the beaten path this time with chicken feet and the eel soup (narrowly beating out the snail soup). Both were outstanding. Portions are large.

Good value and very authentic. Sufficient variety merits return visits.

Had been a frequent customer of Hanoi on King during my 3-month stay at Brocks Lane. Tasty and value-for-money dishes, nice ambiance and warm hospitality from the owners. Highly recommended!
